Round 1

Lomachenko circles left and sticks the right jab into Selimov's guard. Selimov advances, testing his own right jab on the moving target. Selimov drops his arms down and shakes them out to get the circulation going. Selimiov walks forward, tapping jabs off Lomachenko's forearms. Lomachenko uses the full ring, dancing around with lateral movement. Lomachenko stays behind his gloves, using slick footwork to remain beyond Selimov's jab but keeping a careful watch any reacting with head movement anyway. Selimov cuts the ring off with crab-steps, pivoting off his back foot to face up to Lomachenko as the Ukrainian circles wide. Lomachenko jabs into the guard and props up against Selimov. They briefly play tug of war on the inside and then split without referee intervention. Selimov jabs up into Lomachenko's gloves as he passes by. Lomachenko puts in a short left to the gloves and bops Selimov on the hairline with a high right hook. Quick right hook to the body by Lomachenko dancing by, as Selimov puts up a right hook seeking his chin and grazing.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Lomachenko.

 

Round 2

Lomachenko is using quick movement on the outside and putting in right jabs from a safe distance as Selimov goes to the body. Selimov has unglued his feet from the canvas and is following Lomachenko around, mirroring his steps and staying with him. Jabs and lead lefts are traded as both work carefully out of their high guards. Very evenly matched, these fellows. 1-2 by Lomachenko, reaching over Selimov's guard. Selimov thrusts his forearms out to shove Lomachenko off. Selimov gets in close and shoulder-tackles Lomachenko. Hard left hand lead by Lomachenko, catching Selimov circling unaware. Selimov comes forward, arms pinned together shielding his face as Lomachenko springs up with a left uppercut. Lomachenko dances around, hugging the ropes. They swashbuckle at mid-range, missing body shots.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Lomachenko and have it 20-18 to Lomachenko overall.

 

Round 3

Lomachenko is circling clockwise, with plenty of room between them. Long left hands by Lomachenko, wasting nothing, pulling out and resuming his circling with efficiency and economy of motion his top priority rather than landing with authority. Selimov ducks and slides his front leg in toward Lomachenko and times him circling with a right hook far back on the cheek. Lomachenko lands straight lefts at short range as Selimov bends forward and thumps him on the body. Lomachenko and Selimov both squat and lunge forward at the same time, nearly headbutting or knocking knees. They rise up flurrying with quick straights. Lomachenko scores a right upper-hook to the chin as Selimov brushes him with several body swipes. Clinch. Lomachenko places a light jab and then hooks off it. Stiff jab between the eyes by Lomachenko while dancing to his left.

10-9 Lomachenko but much better for Selimov.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Selimov and have it 29-28 to Lomachenko overall.

 

Round 4

The ref gives them instructions before signaling them to start. Lomachenko is popping the right jab up close, paddling it off Selimov's nose. Selimov keeps his arms dragging at his sides, looking for body shots after ducking and sliding in. Lomachenko circles left, standing upright. Left hand, right hook combo by Lomachenko before a clinch. Selimov puts up a right jab and gets countered in the face by Lomachenko's as he leans sideways with his guard intact. Lomachenko blocks a Selimov jab from a far reclining crouch. Lomachenko is dusting Selimov with the jab across the scalp, using constant movement. Selimov moves in and lands a left to the body. Selimov is now adopting a southpaw version of the shoulder roll coming forward, cocking his left fist at his neck as he stalks.
