Round 1

Lomachenko is turning Maxwell and launching big overhand lefts as he does. Maxwell tries to pop off flurries into Lomachenko's guard whilst spinning to face up to him. Fast but sure-footed movement on the outside by Lomachenko. HUGE lunging left hand lead, straight into Maxwell's nose, hurting him and forcing him to tie up. Maxwell paws a jab while reversing nearly into a corner. Lomachenko closes in with a left hand and gets tied up. Big flurry by Maxwell and Lomachenko grazes him with a counter left through the fray. Maxwell ties up again. Maxwell's right eye has an abrasion. Lots of wrestling and head butting on the inside.

Is Maxwell like 4" taller?

 

Round 2

Lomachenko is hopping in and out, throwing quick right hooks to the body and snapping upright with lefts between the eyes as Maxwell tries to track him and plant a southpaw-bane straight right on him. Lomachenko is dancing around and putting his gloves up as Maxwell tickles his brow with long spearing punches. Lomachenko skips to his left and stays off the ropes as Maxwell comes plodding and thrusting after him. Nice defense.

All three judges have it 20-18 to Lomachenko.

 

Round 3

Lomachenko jabs, feints, drops a level, springs up to one side and hooks the body. Maxwell is overwhelmed, standing straight up and over-thinking his reactions and always a beat too late putting his punches together after Lomachenko has darted back outside. Clinch by the ropes. Lomachenko leads with a left to the stomach and then plugs away with a right hook as Maxwell pushes down on the back of his head. Maxwell tries a long right hand but gets stuffed when Lomachenko's arms shoot up to catch it. Right hook by Lomachenko. Lead right, left hook combo by Maxwell, missing badly as Lomachenko pushes backward off his toes. Lomachenko throws a left and gets tied up as Maxwell clamps down on it. Maxwell throws a 1-2, missing the jab and having his cross dodged with quick crossover footwork by Lomachenko.

All three judges have it 30-27 to Lomachenko.

Round 4

Lomachenko is tagging Maxwell with lefts down the pipe and stinging fast right hooks. Lomachenko is able to slip under all of Maxwell's slower whip-cracks from the outside. Hooking flurry by Maxwell, too far to land. They clinch and Lomachenko gets a few slapping rights to the neck in before getting completely swallowed up. Maxwell jogs in place to reset his balance and tries to jab at Lomachenko but can't square up. Lomachenko is moving too fast for him. Clinch. Maxwell drops a right to the body, but it gets caught between Lomachenko's pinned elbows. Lomachenko walks him down with the lefty stance keeping his jab fixed on Maxwell's left eye. Lomachenko pummels Maxwell into a corner, which holds him up for a moment. Standing eight at the bell!
