I've watched almost every single match over the last two seasons, mainly due to the availability of broadcasts.

I have no intention of signing up for anything, especially since fees will come up soon enough.

As things stand, its currently free for a month. All you have to do is register which requires an email address & a few other details.

If/when they start to charge then its up to you if you want to pay or not.

Dunno, but they did upload each matches' fights in full length on their website fairly quickly.

Kaz-Cuba this afternoon looks like the pic of the weekends fixtures.

Petrauskas vs Stankovic in the UKR-ITA match will be a war :ibutt

I just subscribed. Is anyone else paying? 21 USD for the remaining playoff bouts isn't bad. I look at it as basically the same as a month of HBO, but you're getting I think it's 70 bouts, and they're all more evenly matched than 90% of regular pro boxing fights. And I consider it a way to support AIBA's planned destruction of existing fractured pro boxing with their APB!

Am I missing a round by round thread this year? I'm just catching up with the Cuba-Russia fights. I only watched Lomachenko's fights last year and a few others, and there don't seem to be as many elites as last year, but there's plenty of good action to check out still.

fcuk the wsb. it's a stupid concept that pits world class fighters against each other waaaay to soon. there's a reason the olympics is held every four years and the world games every two years after. the hometown decisions are not good for the sport.

How does it pit them against eachother way too soon anymore than the olympics or world championships do? Thats the good thing about the competition you get the best fighting the best which doesnt always happen in the pro's

Il agree with you on the hometown decisions though

as someone that trains and develops fighters...i know how easily a fighter can be destroyed in one night/one fight after spending years and years of developing him. $5K is not enough to put all of that hard work on the line for a fight that not many ppl will see...and the fighter will not get much credit for because no one knows for sure who these guys are at this point. a gold medal is a ticket to the top of the sport. when u win a gold medal...the world is watching. that leads to a much more lucrative path than the wsb.

If you take a view at any other sport, you will notice a similar concept. Only in pro boxing you can find cases where 2 of the best fighters never face each other. No tournaments, no well organized competitions, just promoters trying to hype their clients up and get them the less risky fights for more cash. If the best don't fight the best, then that's a 100% stupid concept, which is the unfortunate case we have in professional boxing. Hopefully AIBA is coming to end that when their own pro boxing project.

They use heavier gloves in the WSB and fight over five rounds and the refs are quick to stop fights, the only well known boxer iv seen get anywhere near destroyed in the WSB was Fred Evans thats about it.

Thats the problem witht the pro's everyone is too concerned with keeping there 0 and not fighting top class opposition for as long as possible in order to make the most money. Most of these boxers get payed good money by there national body as well so they earn a good living while getting great experience.

did u see golovkin/bute at the world games? that was an amazing fight that hardly anyone has ever seen. neither guy made money on that fight. i think it altered bute big time and he could have been a much better fighter if that fight never happened. bute is wrapping up a pretty good career while golovkin is just coming into his prime. from the standpoint of someone who invests his time into a fighter...that fight with golovkin at the world games cost bute $$$.

that's where your argument is invalid. boxing is not like any other sport. u don't play boxing.

i would say golden gloves, the u.s. mens tournament, the p.a.l tournament, the pan am games, the world games, the olympic games are all very well organized tournaments.

aiba should stick to amateur boxing and stop trying to take over professional boxing. any fighter that would opt to go the wsb route is going to be short changed financially.

I was talking about someone getting ruined in the WSB. Yes but Bute is a lot better then Golovkin, that amateur fight showed what Froch proved Bute doesnt have great punch resistence. When Bute turned pro we watched him build a record fighting over matched opponents and almost getting stopped by Andrade in the process and a lot of people taught he was no.1 in the division for doing this until Froch destroyed him. This wouldnt happen in the WSB or APB because the best will fight the best just like Golovkin fighting Bute in the WC. I dont mind someone turning pro young and building a record but when you see someone like Wilder you know his record is only been built for money ,i hate that about pro boxing

Of course boxing is not like any other sport, because every sport is unique. From you comments I can notice that you don't know much about the amateur boxing and how it works. "Win/lose records" in amateur boxing don't mean much themselves, it's the achievements you win. You have to compete at so many matches, and a loss here or there doesn't mean much. It's not like in the professionals, where you have to "get your career back on the track" after a loss, it's nothing like that.
If AIBA took care of the pro boxing like they intend to do, you will regularly have the best fighting the best, without boxers suffering so much if they get some defeats, that's for sure.
