    Yeah, Mayorga won like 3 rounds against Cotto and he was competitive in almost every round. Interesting match up.

    That **** talking Martirosyan lost to Ouma, but because he was a Bob Arum fighter, he won via robbery. I can't wait for that clown to get beat down by somebody.

    They know what they are doing and in my opinion are doing a great job. He has a good following and many critics including myself. The WBC should be ashame of themselves by the way, handing belts as of very lately. Many are saying he is only 20, but damn dont hand him a title. Tito, Vargas, Benitez, Tyson, and so many more did amazing things even at early stages. I dont mind the opponents he is facing, its just the belt thing. Hey controversy sells.

    Not quite that fight I'd expect to support Schaefer's claims that he is trying to put together a PPV extravaganza featuring Mayweather-Ortiz and Alvarez-TBA.

    Mayorga would be much closer to being the appropriate selection to fit GB's proclamation.

    he just beat a legit top 10 guy in rhodes his belt is a joke hes is 20 let him have a few more learning/money fights with B opponents its all about building up to the elite fights otherwise hes gonan struggle when he gets to the top and possibly take a beating that could ruin him.

    agreed. im not saying put him in there with paul williams...but alfonso gomez? mayorga whos almost 40? maybe he can fight manfredo first then chavez jr can fight manfredo next....i agree...its a joke

    I would really like to see him against Mayorga. The pre fight would be hilarious and the fight in itself would be more interresting than most fights. Cotto vs Mayorga was awesome and very crowd friendly.

    My thing is, if a fighter or his management dont want him to be rushed, then dont have him fight for a title.

    You want to fight for a title, and you win it, its time to fight like a champion then. Its about more then him, its about what fighters are deserving of a chance to win that title as well.

    If he wants to continue his development against lesser opp, then vacate the title.

    just imo


    Chavez Jr, Angulo, Ishida, Joel Julio, Kirkland, Powell, Vanes, ect, ect, ect


    Plenty of decent calibre fighters to fight out there without facing p4p'ers like vargas did, so the whole 'rushing' thing doesnt fly for me. Im not saying he should fight the best out there (Pac, Mayweather, Martinez, Williams) but there are fights out there with guys who arent there to just get beaten on and are worthy opponents. None of these guys are on the Ikes, Wrights, or Trinidads level, so the whole vargas comparisons should stop. Big difference.

    Like I said, if he wants to be fighting guys like Gomez, or the corpse of Mayorga, then drop the title.
