Not sure if serious. I know one thing about business if you keep rolling out a subpar product the consumer will go elsewhere. This fight blows and most fans won't care to watch it.

Molina is around his level of performance so what's the problem? Danny hasn't looked good since Matthysse.

I'm not completely sold on Garcia as a welterweight and Molina is coming off a nice win, in all honesty this isn't a bad fight. It would make for a nice undercard fight but is on the weak side if its a main event on Showtime, NBC, etc.

The problem is Haymon has some of the best welterweights out there, Thurman, Spence, and Porter, and Garcia still hasn't faced any of them. He's had enough of this level type of fights at 147, its well past time to see how he does against the best in the division.

As a jr welterweight Garcia was facing some of the best in his division but since moving up to welterweight he seems to be avoiding them. It's disappointing and no wonder people trash him.

You mean the guy who fought: Manny Pacquiao, Marcos Maidana x 2, Saul Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez, Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, Zab Judah, Arturo Gatti, DeMarcus Corley, Jose Luis Castillo x 2 and Diego Corrales? That Floyd?

    Yes I'm being sarcastic.

But there are a few DSG apologists on here who will legitimately tell you this fight makes sense and that you don't know **** about boxing. Sorry, prizefighting

So Garcia 'allegedly' could have fought Pac but chose Berto instead and now has ducked Berto to fight Molina?

    :watchout:

Here is another tidbit about business. You can coast off of past reputation for awhile, but if you don't continue to sell a decent product, people will stop buying your ****. The more distant Danny gets from the days when he was actually trying to progress his career, the less people are going to tune in. As long as Danny is an active fighter in a division he is not considered the best, he has something left to prove.

I think this is a solid point. I know some may give Garcia more hype (some of that is trolling), but all in all, who really puts him at the highest tier? The book's kind of been written there- he peaked against Lucas, and since then, has been trying to get as many paydays as possible before his body completely breaks down on him. Honestly, I can't fault him for that.

It'd be one thing if these were all gross mismatches he's been scheduling, but even the steps up from Salka and the shell of Paulie tested him. The fights with Peterson and the ghost of the Ghost showed what level he's on right now. Molina isn't fantastic at world level, but neither is Danny. It's going to be an entertaining fight, and Garcia won't whitewash him.

Chalk me up as having no problem with this one. I'm actually looking forward to it

I agree completely, I was being sarcastic, I am mocking the people who say Canelo calls the shots because he beat Austin Trout in 2013

Well if this fight happens than that's good news for Molina. He's getting a title shot. I still feel that Garcia shouldn't be looking towards the light-welterweight division for fights unless its a fight against the man he ducked, Viktor Postol, or the unified champ, Terrance Crawford. That's the only way I would actually be looking forward to seeing Garcia fight a light-welter. However it's not like Molina is a bad fighter or anything so you really can't rule him out in this fight. Especially since its Garcia he's fighting and not Thurman or Spence.

Considering he was effectively handed the WBC belt on a silver platter, you'd think Danny might want to say thanks via a decent fight. He is slowly becoming irrelevant

It's not like Andre Berto is much better than Molina anyway
