Yes, The Judges Score Cards were 98-92, 98-92, and 97-93. They should have been 100-90.

based on what we saw in the first round? i think he would have to be one of the two favorites along w/ aa. the green fight should also be pretty one sided as well.

i think the dirrell/aa fight will tell us a lot actually. moreso than ward/kessler imo. i don't mean to slight green and froch but green is a class or two below these guys and froch should be beaten by either kess or aa.

will be interesting to see how this second round unfolds.

No. The use of the words "clinic", "schooling" and "outclassed" is so misguided by many on ESB. To judge fairly what Ward can do and what he is worth let's see him without his refs and without the nasty headbutting.

This. it was impressive, but not that impressive. I think it may not even qualify as impressive, it just impressed me because I never saw it coming lol.

In all, it was good because it showed Ward has a mature, focused mindset, which is why he'll go farther than Dirrell will. Skill-wise, i really wasn't impressed with him at all. He doesn't seem to throw shots with the intent to hurt the other guy.

    :| Get over it.

Kessler will never beat Ward...If a fighter can negate Kessler initial game plan then that fighter can beat Kessler...Kessler has shown in the past he's not to good at coming up with a back up gameplan....He tends to look lost whenever somebody negates his attack...The proof is in the pudding! Kessler just got beat by the better man that night!

Maybe you guys need to stop overrating him!:yep

Lets say that the ref did take away a point...He Kessler still got his ass handed to him! Kessler looked lost and dumb founded when Ward would switch stances on him...Kessler is not good at making adjustments during fights...You can see how lost he looked in the Calzaghe fight! He looked the same in the Ward fight as well!

Nice attempt though! That excuse still wont cut it though!

Difference is in the Calzaghe fight he was confused because he was being punched a lot. In the Ward fight, he was confused because he couldn't ****ing see.

Up until the 7th round when Kessler first mentioned that he couldn't see, the fight was pretty decent. I think I had Kessler winning 3 rounds and Ward winning 4 at that point. Kessler was by no means being whooped on until the headbutt ****ed up his day.

I'm not making excuses for him, because I think he was on his way to a decisive loss anyway. But those headbutts completely took him out of the fight, and Ward being allowed to hold at will was also not helping Kessler's cause. From round 8-11, Ward looks dominant because he's fighting a guy who is essentially blind. Whoop-de-****in-do.

LMAO...No offense but that sounds like an excuse to me...Kessler didnt have an answer for anything Ward was doing...Headbutts or not Ward was beating Kessler to the punch all night...Given the styles 10-10 Ward beats Kessler...Ward probably stops Kessler if they ever fought again!

Doubt it, since Ward has about zero power and Kessler has never been down, let alone stopped. of course, Froch might ruin him in the next fight so you never know.

And Kessler did have an answer for what Ward was doing up to round 7. It was a pretty decent fight until then. Kessler was constantly cornering him and backing him down, but he was reluctant to pull the trigger early on. I was yelling at him to punch but he wouldn't listen. i guess maybe he was trying to see what he could get away with and set up a late stoppage or comeback? I don't know, but i do know that ward was in no way dominating Kessler until round 7 when the cuts began to impair Kessler's vision.

I think they'll meet again in the semifinals and Kessler will pull it off (provided he gets good wins in his next two outings). If Ward is forced to fight a fair fight, Kessler will beat him imo.

Ofcourse he doesn't stop him. And to say that two guys who are after all very close in terms of skill level, one wins 10-10 is not very realistic.

He could beat him, but it would be much closer. The Kessler that fought Andrade would have made it closer at least. I still don't think it was the right Kessler on that night.

I should really be able to make a ton of excuses after a fight like that, but this time i am. Tells me Kessler could win if he had all the same advantages. (Hometown referee, hometown fans, no harassing etc)
