to add to this this was also at a time that Zoo said he only wanted big big fights. this of course ended with him fighting hatton and then retiring.

sorry andrey, his resume just doesn't stack up as HOF material...and i know many others have gone in, but this is something that happened in my generation which gives me the right to speak on it and voice my opinion.......

the 140 era was about to sizzle, but never did....sort of how it was supposed to sizzle with urango, torres and many others in that division but failed to live up to the hype once again.....the 140lb division will always be known as just a step, or a tester divisoin for welter.....that division is hardly ever stacked, and if it is..then it's just for a short period of time.....

not taking nothing away from kostya, but that division was hella ****en weak and his resume just dont cut it....if he would've picked up a legit WW title and defended a few times then of course....but he stayed and ruled one division, and a weak one at that....

Cotto was almost knocked out by ****ing Torres. You clearly have a bias against Kostya that blocks your ability to rate him accurately.

and kostya was almost ko'd by judah in the first round....what's your point ????

cotto came back and showed what a real warrior does when in trouble.....cotto has/had amazing movement, enough to trouble kostya IMO...not to mention the punch he packs

You're probably thinking of Cotto who had to punch Judah to the balls a couple of times to get out of trouble.
Cotto was almost knocked out by Corley who he outweighed by 17 pounds! Cotto was badly hurt and his legs gone. Corley just had to go all-out and the fight would have been stopped by the ref. Instead he threw 3 punches. The poorest finishing I have ever seen.

Hell has a special place reserved for Tszyu haters.

Dante Alighieri: "When I stared about me, I looked down and saw their heads snapping back, eating Tszyu right hands for eternity."

    :good:good:good

The JWW division was one of the strongest/deepest divisions back then, Zab was a beast at JWW.

Oscar, SSM and Floyd did not seem to fight Kostya, did they duck him, prob' not, was he the king there and they moved up in weight and managed not to fight him, yes.

Hardly. Yes he ate an uppercut and took some decent shots but quickly tied Judah up or simply stood ground stopping Judah from forcing him back, except where Judah throws 3 or 4 glancers as Tszyu rushed back. Nearly KO'ed? Please. Look at it again.

Besides, we all know what happened in the end. That impeccable timing stopped a guy who was quick enough to nullify Mayweathers defence til he gassed.

Heres the problem i have with the so called Haters.

Tszyu's resume is not as good as some fighters i agree but what some fail to give Tszyu credit for is the statistics of were he beat his opponents and how he beat them.

Some tend to forget while most greats fought on average 20 fights before facing a Former World Champ Tszyu took one on in his 4th Pro fight.

But some tend to forget he was avoided not in the sense fighters were scared of him but in the sense they knew they would be risking alot if they lost to some one like Tszyu.

I will put this foward so some can understand it better.

I will compare Aaron Pryors career and statistics against Tszyu's then you can judge then.

    Aaron Pryor

    Pryors Opponents Records

    They combined
    956 Wins
    437 Losses
    49 Draws
So the average opponent for Pryor had a 23.9 Wins 10.9 Loss Record

    He faced 4 World Champions
    Cervantes-Arguello-Hinton-Kim

He had 11 world title fights 10 of them on home soil. With a record
    11-0-0 9KO

    Kostya Tszyu

    Tszyu's Opponents record combined
    1111 Wins
    134 Loses
    29 Draws
So KT's average opponent record was 32.6 Wins and 3.9 Losses.

He faced an Impressive 15 World Champions
    LaPorte-Rodriguez-Grove-Fuentes-Bramble-Mayweather-Ruelas
    Phillips-Hurtado-Gonzalez-Chavez-Mitchell-Judah-Lieja-Hatton

He had 18 world title fights with a record of 15-2-0 1NC with 12KO
Only had 5 Title fights on his home soil.

Also he is the only man to Unify this division. And had a reign of almost 10 years with a belt at this division. Thats a decade.

Now everyone and the dog says Pryor deserves HOF status but some question Tszyu when every where i look his resume is FAR ****ING SUPERIOR to Aaron Pryor's.

If you dont believ the statistics do them yourself.

OMG Yes there not the greatest ex ex champs but he fought a fair few of them before he had even had 17 Pro fights.
Now answer how many former Champs can say that.

If your so knowledgable on this subject name another fighter to fight 4 Ex Champions before 17 Pro fights.

I bet you can not find 1. Ive looked and done the research.

    Mayweather NO
    Mosley NO
    Del Hoya NO
    Trinidad NO
    Pryor NO
    Chavez NO
    Whitaker NO

Go looking Freddy. I dare you.

I have given evidence that Tszyu's resume far excedes Pryor's and yet No One can make claim that Pryor didnt deserve HOF.

It's funny how these so called Haters after reading the statistics have nothing to say.

Clear evidence that Tszyu faced 3 times as many World Champions also facing opponents with far better records and resumes yet No One can prove with clear evidence that a fighter like Pryor has a better resume yet they claim that Tszyu is not HOF worthy.

The evidence to me proves not only does Tszyu deserve HOF status but in most areas he has a way better resume than most care to believe.

funny how everyone tries to **** on judah now lol. back then he was seen as one of the top prospects and future superstars of the sport...til Tszyu put an end to it.
