I think that is what makes the Jones Jnr's, the DLH's and the Tszyu's - And the Whitaker, Frazier, Ali and Ray Leonards all the more special.

They take their education and graduate with honours.

Missing the point mate as has Freddy-wak all along.

Growing up in Soviet Union no choice. Absoluteley dominates AM's and gives us beatdowns of future world champs - whilst still a teenager.

All to be considered - as a fighter you can only play the hand your dealt with.

If you refuse to consider Am experience then you refuse to understand and accept all the criteria for Hall Of Fame eligibility.

Have you even seen that fight?

Phillips went to hospital for a week earning that win.

Tszyu always credits that fight as the fight that put him back on the path to becoming a unified champion.

You compared Tszyu to Castillo earlier in the thread referring to Castillo's two Mayweather amatuer vitories and his short 5 title stint as a title holder. When he lost his title it was the end.

When Tszyu won the title - It marked a 10 fight come back up to and including the unification against Zab Judah, 9 of which were knockouts.

THAT is how a HoF career is judged - How you deal with adversity.

Did Chavez give Pernell a rematch BTW?

No, the IBHOF tends to focus on pro boxing. Amateurs who never turned pro typically go into AIBA's hall of fame, or their respective country's Olympic HOF.

You understand the subjective criteria - I think you are just deliberately playing dumb.

Michael Rosenthal - Boxing journalist and award winning boxing writer as voted by the Boxing Writers Association.

    or

Fredy-Wak 20-something year old "moderator" of the ESB general forum

    Chavez quit on his stool.

Johnny Lewis stopped the Hatton fight.

The same way Eddie Futch stopped the Thrilla in Manilla.

EDIT: Let me say for the record - I think Chavez is an absolute lock ATG fighter.

    But facts are facts.
