Awesome fight. Katsidis needs a win and an impressive fight, so there aren't many better options for him. Hopefully this then leads to Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis, which is a potential FOTY easily.

Chavez still has something to offer.
Back in the day he would have owned Kat and apart from his knee I dont think those days are all that far behind him.

Katsidas is very flawed, thats why its great to watch him. This should be an entertaining fight at the least.

He is coming off a KO loss. Give him a warmup before we toss him back in there with the big boys.

I don't know about that. That knee injury was pretty bad. Now I know Chavez had one fight already, but that waw with a C level fighter. Casa beat Katsidis, but it was a war and Casa pulled a Whitaker (Whitaker vs Hurtado). I believe that fight was meant for Katsidis to win so that he could have faced Diaz. Both lost. Chavez will not have the strength at 135 to keep this young lion off of him. Weight, age, and knee problem will be factors in the fight bigtime. I like Chavez, but he is biting more than he can chew. He reminds me of Jesse James who got a no-contest with Camacho, jr.

    :thumbsup

It's a great fight on paper. Poor Chavez, his career is pretty much damned. Injuries, tragedy... but he's one hell of a fighter.

I dont know how he looked in his last fight. Some say shopworn, others say better than expected.

I dont disagree he is getting past it and the knee injury was serious but Katsidas is no puzzle and I truly feel he will give the experienced Chavez a lot of openings.
I expect Rocky to win and clearly but it will be fun whilst it lasts.

NB. Sweet Pea's stoppage of Hurtado was plain brutal, I made a website once for college years ago that had that clip playing over and over. 11 unanswered left hands was it? Great stuff.
