1.2 is pretty good. I was thinking it would do 1.5, but 1.2 is good. I guess if you compare the numbers to GBP expectations the fight didn't do too well.

How the hell can anyone say 1.2 m ppv buys is a flop is amazing to me. Mayweather had no dance partner and generated these numbers practically by himself.

Sure Schaffer was far off from his bull**** prediction but he a promoter who is hyping the fight. That has nothing to do with mayweather.

Mayweather as you guys like to point out did 1.2mill against a 38 year old fighter who has never been a ppv attraction. Let's put it into perspective.

If this fight doesn't get made because one fighter doesn't accept 50% that's the fighter I'm blaming.

You are right. It was by all accounts a good number. Just less than people expected. I'm sure some see it as a way of having a dig at Mayweather because there was nothing about his performance they could really criticise.

**** off with the "not the disappointment" garbage. Schaefer himself said it was the most heavily promoted fight in history. It's a good number but not for this fight.

business is you spend this amount of money, expecting a projected return to earn. the way i have seen this fight being hyped, the return isnt enough to make both promoters(GBP and Mayweather) smiling.

1.2M is good, but not as great as GBP envisioned it, to how much money they were going to make. In the end, Floyd made the most off of this fight, Not GBP, but Floyd.

But still has to wait for the official numbers, 1.2M seems too small.

you dont get it. its a promotion of both Golden Boy Promotion and Mayweather Promotions. meaning if the fight earnings doesnt reach the one projected, both promoters lost something, not the fighter but the promotion he owns.

Clearly bigger numbers because of the huge support of the other fighters?

No official number has been released and yet even at 1.2, he did more than Mosley-DLH 2

What does that say to you?

But I agree he cant ask for more than 50/50.

the problem is of course that floyd ducked Cotto in 08, he was afraid to get beaten up by the Puerto Rican powerhouse.

if you don't remember this, the excuse lil floyd and ellerbe used were that Cotto's numbers weren't good enough.

LOL. Mayweather would never do 700K with Clottey.

How you can compare Pac's numbers against Clottey to Floyd's numbers against Mosley, an American who has been fighting on HBO for THIRTEEN years since his fight at lightweight against Holiday, without exposing your bias?

Clottey had fought on HBO only three times up until that point.

    50-50 is fair.
