WTF?! Golden Boy predicted 3m+ ppv buys for Mosley-Floyd and got only 1.1-1.2m! So...

  2. Utterly ridiculous argument.

Oscar de la Hoya did 1.25m against Pacquiao.
Miguel Cotto did 1.25m against Pacquiao.

By your logic we can conclude that Miguel Cotto has the exact same drawing power as Oscar de la Hoya.

If they projected 3m buys and only got 1.1m... that's a failure. If this were a company whose projected earnings fell short by more than 50%, its an extreme failure. This was supposed to be Mayweather's King Kong ain't got nothing on Me Moment, but it failed.

i truly believe floyd is the bigger draw, but i don't give a flying F who gets more, if it's 50/50, who gets their name first, who comes out first, i don't care

make the fight you two egomaniac bitches, or STFU and never ever mention the other's name in an interview again, and never answer questions about the other again

you just gave another excuse on the mayweathers to avoid the fight with pac. and then of course you will blame pac for not accepting the 60/40 split in favor of floyd.

    it should be 50-50.

    idiot.

You realize you have to go inside the numbers to make sense of them. This is a concept foreign to Floyd fanboys.

Its a ****ing joke to compare Oscar-Floyd numbers to Pac-Oscar numbers. The Floyd fight happened summer 2007 with insane hype, premier of 24/7, and a great economy. A lot of people bought the fight because they figured Floyd would back up what he said on 24/7 instead of a defensive fight. The Pac fight happened right after the economic meltdown in 2008 and with considerably less hype. Please try and refute this.

Its also laughable to compare JMM-Floyd to JMM-Pac II. The Pac fight happened before Pac became a superstar(Oscar fight) and without a 24/7. The Floyd fight was his comeback, with a 24/7, and after Floyd became a superstar(Oscar fight). How these are remotely comparable is beyond me.

Hatton-Pac and Hatton-Floyd are somewhat comparable but still not under the same circumstances. The Floyd fight was 2 undefeateds, awesome 24/7, and happened in a decent economy. The Pac fight had an okay 24/7 and happened while the economy was still pretty bad. It also happened after Floyd had easily beaten Hatton, making it a less attractive buy. The Hatton KO also got Pac a lot of fans since it was so spectacular. Thats how you explain the jump in numbers from the Hatton fight to the Cotto fight.

Floyd fans and objective observers, does Floyd put 40,000(or whatever the attendance was) in Jerryworld and generate 700,000 ppvs against Clottey with no 24/7 and little hype?

Floyd couldn't even beat Pacquiao PPV without the latino fan base. Why do you think Floyd had that " injury " and had the fight moved so close to the Mexican Independence Day?

That is actually a good thing, the 50/50 split is fair.

The truth is there despite what the fanboys believe. You become a superstar by fighting a superstar like Oscar. The Oscar fight and the 24/7 with it(Floyd and Oscar did a superb job generating interest) made Floyd a star. Its the same way with Pac. Thats why comparing ones numbers pre-Oscar fight to the others post-Oscar fight is a joke.

The most impressive thing to me is Pac-Clottey. 40,000 attendance and 700,000 buys with little hype is incredible. No one bought the fight for Clottey, it was all Pac. Floyd needs a shitload of hype and all his antics to pull 1 million buys.
