That's part of the game though, people jumping into the ring/cage and making challenges. Sure it was a bit disrespectful, but you can't freak out and start a brawl every time someone does that. I don't even know if something else was said besides "Where's my rematch buddy" because the camera shot out and did an over look of the arena then when they came back it was a brawl, but when Mayhem first got in the cage Jake looked at him and smiled and gave him a friendly slap on the chest. I think it was Jake's camp that freaked out or something. It was ridiculous. :verysad
Fighters coming into the ring to challenge other fighters after a fight isn't anything new. Miller even had a smile on his face. That's what I thought was going on then when they show the cage again its 5 people on Mayhem then some loser comes in and starts to kick him while other people are punching him. ****ing disgraceful. :twisted:
Jake was swinging a couple times on Mayhem too. It was Nate Diaz booting him while he was down. Nate's a douchebag.
Dana probably told him to go in there incognito so he could ruin Strikeforce's credibility. :smoke Seriously though, if I was Nate the last thing I would want to do right now is make any publicity of myself being an idiot with how hot Dana is right now. It is lay low time not make a jackass out of yourself on national tv by booting a guy while he is down and being smothered by 5 other guys at the same time, time. If Dana is anything it is serious about trying to make the sport look better than that thug **** that happened tonight. Might be interesting to see if anything comes from this, of course it wont but it will still be interesting to see if it does.
After watching it again, yeah, the fault lies totally with Melendez and the Diaz bros. Shields would have just laughed it off it seems, but Melendez is the one who escalated it. The sad thing is it shows you how strong the UFC really is, if all it takes is something like this to start the discussions on the demise of Strikeforce.
Nate Diaz is a very good fighter. With that said, I hope and expect Dana to cut him from the UFC for this. Miller is a jackass too. This is sad stuff for MMA. The black announcer is bad for MMA too. "this happens in MMA, lots of testosterone..." Black announcer dude, if your reading this.. YOUR AN IDIOT!! Its the first time this has ever happened if I remember correctly, you just helped legitamize idiotic and uncontrollable behaviour in MMA. This is why I'm hoping DANA does something smart like cutting EVERYONE INVOLVED from ever competing in the UFC. On a side note, maybe everyone was just secretly pissed off at the boring fights.. Strikeforce has been around long before the UFC was even an idea. You guys are acting like a bunch of girls. This is the hurt business. Controversy happens. It remains to be seen what CBS will do but Strikeforce are hardly going to go out of business because Gilbert cant keep his hormones in check.
