    Larry himself said that he believes its because HBO doesn't have anyone at the top anymore who loves boxing...while Showtime does

    Loved some of the early Boxing After Dark fights. Man, there were some wars that took place. Remember the Derek Jefferson-Oleg Maskaev fight? Wow! Or how about the Jefferson-Harris fight. Unbelievable! One of the most brutal KOs I have ever seen.

    The announcers have zilch go do with it. The decline is due to a drastic decrease in the budget. Nothing more, nothing less.

    HBO’s business model is predicated on having a superstar show. That show for one more year will be GoT, and after that who knows. Whereas Showtime takes a more balanced approach and has made room for boxing.

    I haven’t cancelled hbo yet but am getting close. It’s sad in a way because I hate to give up on it. But the network appears to have quit boxing in any meaningful way.
