If that fight was in Germany it would have been a lopsided decision for Sebastian. I thought it was at best a draw for Chavez.
This was a very weird stat wise fight. Zbik was landing like 55% of his power shots, chavez had more body shots than head shots and also the stronger punches. I saw a draw tonight chavez not doing much till the later rounds. He was being outworked in the beginning. could you believe the weight difference 15 lbs on fight night weight.
Zbik out-landed him 2-1 in every one of the first five rounds. No way Chavez swept the last seven. And that ref was in the tank for Jr. After the second time, I would have told my fighter to return those low blows punch-for-punch.
I thought Chavez won the fight, close but clearly and I was actually rooting for Zbik (for my own selfish reasons) to win the fight. Zbik started well, but after the fourth round or so, he was getting absolutely murdered to the body. While Zbik may have landed the flashier shots to the head, it was Chavez who dished out the most hurt in the majority of the rounds.
For the first 7 rounds or so. Zbik had pop on his punches and was hammering Chavez's head back. Chavez would land a good shot every now and again, but Zbik, I thought, was clearly giving him the business. Chavez did come on late in the fight though, but I thought Zbik won...close, but clear.
That's what I thought too. Jr. wanted it more, don't know how Zbik took that much punishment to the body.
