If team arreola "claims" he is at 260 now...i would like to see him around 250-255 on fight night....if VK is coming in around 242-248.....sure chris is fatter then he should be to be a pro fighter, but his body type will never allow him to be cut.....250-255 is ok for chris....but if he is over 260 he is a dead man before round 7....
One good payday and calling it a day. Unfortunately that's the problem with too many fighters today; the hell with proper conditioning and training, just get in there and get the money.
By his own admission of weighing 260 now, it seems more salient that Arreola isn't too concerned about the weight, thus having never gone the distance in any of his previous fights, I think he realizes that if he can't get rid of Vitali within 4-5 rounds it's not going to matter if he is 260, 250, or 240, he knows he won't win. However, I am willing to "weight":yep and give him the benefit of the doubt until the official weigh in.
Goddamn that nose is a huge ****ing target. I shudder thinking about what it will look like when Vitalis done with it.
:deal I agree, Arreola's weight is getting way too much play on ESB...I was impressed with a very young arreola, but his last 2 fights I realized he is a crude one-dimensional fighter, that realize on over powering guys and imposing his will....
chill the **** out! maybe thats just the way he is not all heavyweight fighters hav to look like an adonis hav you ever seen him look like a pro body builder ? no but hasnt he allways been prepared ? yes so who the **** are you to say he isnt taking it serious just because he doesnt look ripped ? he's never looked ripped but it hasnt made a difference so far so why should it now ? no one says you gotta look like mr.perfect to be a good fighter and those who do are ****holes
heres the thing, people have different body types. I was dissapointed as hell seeing Eddie Chambers flabby against Sam Peter, but thats because we've known him to be a guy best effective at around 210-215. thats not the case with Cris.
Nobody is suggesting Arreola's physique should be ripped like a body builder. However there really isn't any dispute if he should be slimmer. How many HW did you see ten years ago with physiques like Arreola and Peters?
Because those previous 27 were not named the klitschko's. Because those 27 weren't for the world title, against arguably the best HW or HW's, on top of that he has the chance to make history by becoming the first Mexican HW champion. Because beating Vitali would likely earn him a mega $$$ show down with Wladmir. The magnitute of this fight can't compare to his other 27 opponents, which is why Arreola needs to be in the best shape of his life. Look nobody is claiming that Arreola needs to look like one of those spartans in the movie 300, but being lighter would no doubt benift him, whether it be more agility, stamina, or just being quicker, and improving those attributes would only benift him when he fights Vitali.
