Why hasn't he fought since Manny fight.

He looked sensational. He's pissing me off because the guy is good enough to win a belt in Light Welter and Welter and become a 5 weight world champ.

But why won't he do it?

Where is he, there are also so many amazing match ups with him that he's not making.

I think he is just getting older and needs more time off between fights maybe and he is reaching the tail end of his career...so he is looking for big purses or fights that are very lucrative for him.

Or he is just enjoying the payday from the Pac fight.

maybe/. Its annoying cos he's awesome and could be in some awesome fights at 140 and 147.

Why didnt he make the rios fight. It would have been amazing.

I don't think many fights interest him that's why. I think the only fight that really interests him is against Manny. Hey, who could blame him..

He don't care about he belts...
In theory he could have been right on the mix of the 140lbers.
(IMO, has enough to beat or at the very least take any champ to the limits)

When you go into the ring against the biggest star in boxing and arguably the number 1 fighter in the world, and then arguably beat him 3 times only to be robbed every single time. I can only imagine how FRUSTRATED and annoyed I would be.

I dont really blame him, he is getting older and becoming a multi division champ by beating lesser guys is just not as appealing as being the best in the sport p4p and being in the record books for beating an ATG

I agree with you. He keeps looking for Manny, but even if he gets a legit Win over it doesn't mean as much as say.... Beating a young prospect who goes on to dominate boxing.
Just like Martinez fighting Chavez. Big payday no doubt, but more importantly long after Martinez retires, Chavez will be putting on great fights, a great champ, etc. Martinez legacy still builds even being retired.

i think if he wanted to be an atg, winning a couple of belts at 140 then 147 would definetly do that imo.

he's got a good career, but imo, he could throw himself into the ATG's if he went on a run now which he's capable of.

Also the champions at 140 and 147 are **** poor right now, he could have a field day.

I question if Marquez truly feels he is at the elite level, if so he could of and would of whipped everybody from 140-147 not named Mayweather or Pacquiao, he seemingly looks average against c class fighters, even allowing them to put him on his ass. At this point I feel he's picking on the ATG Pacquiao because he knows his tendencies and could constantly exploit his technical deficiencies

Truthfully I love JMM, but him constantly ducking big fights, has rubbed me wrong just like Winky, his legacy is one who will suffer

JMM could win me back after a solid win over Bradley

If you think you're pissed, how do you think he feels? He was definitely robbed against Pac two times, arguably 3. He sought a third fight with Pac for years, and three and a half years later he finally got it, he clearly outboxed Pac, but was robbed blind by the judges.

His motivation to fight was probably destroyed in the last Pac fight when he didn't get the decision. I don't blame him, either. He's nearly 40 years old, has been in several wars and has nothing left to prove. He's only interested in big money fights, and there aren't many around for him anymore.

Well he is already a top 3 p4p fighter. Only people that are lucrative to him would be Pac and PBF. I really doubt he wants to fight PBF again so that leaves Pac.

Now that Marquez is on the roids, he doesn't want to risk his health by fighting too often, as every fight requires him to cycle on to the roids.

    oh yeh, haha, oops

That was an interim fight to lead the way for rios fight.

I don't get why marquez turned it down :huh

It was an easy pay day

that still annoys me. i want him to fight the belt holders. he's good enought to beat most of them.
