has to be one of the dumbest fighters i have ever seen. he finally decided to turn it up with a few seconds left in the fight
With Zab's strength...Paulies lack of....Zab should have rush Paulie and got ugly inside. A guy like Judah should NEVER lose to a guy like Paulie. Never...
it's almost as if he was paid to take a dive. he was definitely on snooze mode last night. he almost ko'd paulie by boring him to death.
Probably the most dissapointed Ive been in Zab for.... **** I dont know how long. This is up there with the Khan fight as his worst effort ever, imo. Almost every time he would throw more then two punches at a time he would land something.... and yet he was almost intent on not doing that. He was literally in sparring mode. My friend was yelling that Judah took a dive..... and honestly I will never suspect things like that but there were times in the fight where it literally looked like Zab wanted to do anything but win the fight. His corner would be yelling at him and he would be laughing or looking away. Even the announcers were talking how disinterested he was. For this magnitude of fight? Seriously this fight was huge for these two, on their home turf. and after what he showed in the Garcia fight? I would think it was a dive as well if Zab hadnt shown us flashes of this type of passivness in previous fights. Just really dissapointed in Zabs effort..... you got kids like Tapia in there with pure beasts and he gives it his all.... but Zab cant throw more then two punches at a time more then once a round against a guy like Paulie. There is no excuse for Zab not to beat Paulie..... none. Anyways, great win for Paulie..... happy for him.
im trying to think did zab ever win a big fight. lost every big fight hes been in i think baldomir floyd tyzu cotto clottey khan garcia paulie
Yea there was a few times in the corner where Zab's dad was going off on him and he just looked away like "maaan, F^ck you". I was like they got family issues.
A couple things I noticed about Paulie. 1. He needs to throw more punches. Got a world class jab, doesn't use it nearly enough. Should aslo throw more punches in bunches, he rarely takes a clean shot but when he does this can sometimes sway judges into giving the other guy the round due to cleaner, harder shots landed. If he upped his punch output slightly the clean powershots he recieves would be nulified by his workrate and ring generalship. 2. He needs to move back down to light welter. Hasn't got the frame or strength to be up at welter with guys like Thurman in my opinion. 3. If he can box a masterclass like he did against senchenko (one of his best wins imo) he's a match for anyone. But again needs to let his hands go more, although not heavy handed, his jabs are stinging and accurate as hell and will bust you to pieces. Glad Paulie got the win, will be interesting to see what he does next.
That's a bit unfair... Wins over Matthyse, Witter, Cory Spinks, Micky Ward. His resume leaves much too be desired, but he has stacked up some solid wins and titles.
