    I agree
    I was hyped for the Linares fight but just as happy if he faces Easter then goes to Linares.
    Both are tough SOBs in my book and this pursuit of more money has the potential to bite Mikey on the aze or Chin with Easter

    His statement was pretty clear.
    He's making more money for his January fight (possibly a unification with Easter), but he's still very interested in fighting Linares next year.

    Except that beating Linares makes him a lot more bankable for future fights. So he would likely get even more for Easter as a unified champ.

    I was initially thinking this and thats a decent comparison, however ill be routing for Garcia anyway!

    How could anyone think this is a duck? A PRIZEfighter choosing to make a bigger PRIZE for fighting opponent a vs opponent B. Also, in this instance, the parties (Garica and Golden Boy) have agreed to continue negotiations after the bigger PRIZE fight (for Mikey) takes place.

    It's a no brainer for him financially, although I would rather watch the Linares fight for the lineal title as that is the fight that means more historically.

    Hey this is business. Mikey dont play around with it. He doesn't enjoy fighting he does it cuz hes good at it and it makes him money. Hes putting himself first and not backing away from it. You can't blame him for it.

    I am disappointed though. Maybe we'll see it happen after Garcia knocks out Easter.
