WTF Ring HAS Rigondeaux over Marquez P4P

This is a horrible, horrible list.

 

First 7 are perfect in perfect order.

I have Cotto on mine too, but I'd probably have Hopkins, Donaire, or Roman ahead of Mikey Garcia and potentially Froch as well.

 

Rigo has ONE notable fighter on his resume. Typical of ESB hypers. SMH

 

That would be a good match-up. Marquez won't be outboxed and won't back down but seems more vulnerable to knockdowns on the early part of his career,,... I got Marquez in a close contest.

 

He has one great fighter on his resume, but he does have a couple other "notable" fighters on his ledger; Ricardo Cordoba and Joseph Agbeko (although unproven/unranked at 122). His other supporting wins have only come to look less attractive in their performances after Rigo beat them (Marroquin, Rico Ramos, Teon Kennedy... all have looked poor or irrelevant since).

But that one great fighter on his resume, and how he dismantled him, eclipses most top 10 ranked fighters' entire career of achievements.

 

122 and 126 were such great weights for Marquez that you have him beating Rigo at them?

Rigo has beat a completely shot to **** Donaire. Big whoop.

 

I am a big fan of Marquez and absolutely despise Rigos style but currently Marquez doesn't belong on any P4P list his he's 40+ and would more than likely lose to any top 10 fighter in the WW division besides Pacquiao. Though I don't like Rigo he has a win over a more than likely future HOFer in Donaire and has been unblemished since. Marquez-Pacquiao IV was 2 years ago since he's had a competitive but clear loss to Bradley and a win over a low ranked JWW.

The last 5 are always debatable but that's how I'd have it.

I love him. But there are many more deserving... many more.

 

Rigo's performance against Doniare was great but it proves **** in regards to how he would have done vs Marquez. Marquez is considered by many an ATG-type fighter(higher ranked than Donaire for sure) and had he been able to squeeze down to 122 he would have been a better and stronger opponent than Donaire.

@126 Marquez schooled Pac(after the first round debacle). Let me know when Rigo fights anyone at feather then we'll have a better idea how he would have fared vs Marquez!

 

That's just not a fair example to either Marquez or Rigo.

Rigo's prime is 122.

Marquez never fought at 122.

Impossible to say and pointless to discuss because of that.

Just like how Donaire's prime was 112 or 118... he was not "prime" against Rigo.

A "Rigo vs. JMM, Prime vs. Prime?" question cannot be answered. As of now, they haven't spent time at the same division in their respective prime.
