What a crock of ****. I'm sure they'll go after Campillo for the title- hopefully Shumenov can find another good fight to take in the meantime until another champ gives him his shot.
the fight will go on. Basically, they sued Campillo in Spanish court, but Campillo is already training in Kazakhstan, and the fight is in Kazakhstan, so the ruling of the Spanish court has no jurisdiction over the fight. Also, Campillo is claiming he never signed any agreement with Universum.
I'll side with this as I want common sense, rather than boxing politics, to prevail. Surely the WBA are still sanctioning the fight as well:think.
According to boxrec Braehmer vs Kuziemski is now for the interim WBO light heavyweight title. So if that's true Campillo/Shumenov should still be on.
I hope Brahmer and Shumenov win their fights. A Brahmer-Shumenov fight would be a huge brawl between two very skilled hard punchers. BTW Campillo was Garays voluntary defense. So Universum definitely has some options on campillo. This spanish court ruled so and i believe they hav more knowledge about that **** than Campillo.
