Anyone who thinks Ortiz knocks out Forbes needs to stop sniffing butt cracks.

Forbes is not being knocked out by Ortiz, that guys defense is solid.

Hell, Berto even had problems, come on get real, its a very good fight for Ortiz though but Ortiz needs to fight someone who can punch him back hard to see if he can take it aswell as dish it out, that is an example of a test in my opinion. If Torres is campaigning at that weight still then why not chuck him in there with Torres. It makes ****ing sense

He can get a knock out for a few reasons:

1- Ortiz has legit light tower power as they say.

2- After round six or so, If Forbes is behind on the cards he can easily go into sparring partner mode. Basically I could see him taking a lot of unneccesary shots after round 8 in one of those bravado moments and getting TKO'.d

3- While Stevie is a good test defensively, Ortiz has some underrated counter puncher ability. If he opens up (Forbes does) in attempt to score something, Ortiz will be there.

It's a good fight because if Forbes can fight the first six rounds like the last six rounds, He'll put himself in a position to win. Problem is Stevie has been a sparring partner for way too long and a champion for way too little.

Ortiz will not stop forbes, what makes you people think ortiz can stop forbes, he probably wont even hit forbes clean, forbes has got a very good defense, he is hittable but only in the later stages of a fight and ortiz is still learning, he has flaws too that forbes could expose too.even match up but forbes is not being stopped, dont be stupid

I don't like this fight. Forbes is a bit of stinker and often seems content to lose on points after his initial effort fails.

You talk about Ortiz like he is the second coming or something, look, you need more than just power to win a fight, I've been following boxing far too long for someone to call a fight based off someone having legit power. Forbes has got underrated skills, he may not be top tier but Ortiz will not knock him out, it would go the full 12 and I wouldn't be surprised if it went to a split decision, Ortiz is good but keep it him in perspective, he can be countered also as I have seen him get dropped on the Forbes vs De La Hoya Bill if im not mistaken. I respect your assessment, but I think everyone is getting far too ahead of themselves and basing their assessments on punching power. It's similar to when everyone was saying Pavlik would knock Hopkins out, it was pure hype and people swallowed it.

Yet Berto tagged him with every uppercut he threw?

Forbes is hard to hit but I'm not talking about a KO before round six. I'm suggesting that when we hit the latter stages and Forbes resorts to his sparring partner mode, He can be tagged.

And Ortiz will hit him. A knock out isn't as impossible as you're making it out to be. This isn't Pernell Whitaker for Christs sake.

    A) That bolded part doesn't apply to me because I never bought into Pavlik knocking out Hopkins.

    B) In more than a few fights now, Forbes has resorted to sparring partner mode and given away latter rounds to "prove a point" basically.

    C) Forbes has been in a few wars and taken some heavy shots so the idea that his chin has a few cracks in it nowadays isn't exactly off the course.

    D) Forbes doesn't have anything resembling pop to hurt Ortiz.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that Forbes pulls out an upset SD win by the by. I just doubt his ability to sustain a lead over Ortiz for 12 rounds. Forbes is "cursed by success" to steal a Walt Clyde Frazier saying.

So why didn't Berto stop him then if he was getting tagged by every uppercut in the book...?

I just cant see it happening even after 6 rounds, I mean Ortiz can bang there is no doubting that but he still hasn't been in with anyone who was a live opponent. Carlos Maussa is garbage and looked like Garbage when they fought. Mike Arnaoutis, I've never rated him, never, so until he fights a live guy we will never know how good he is. He should fight Torres in my opinion. Torres has speed and power and it would be interesting while it lasted. I mean he gave Cotto hell for 5 or 6 lol...The fight makes sense.

I agree with the Forbes assessment, he is no way near being my favourite fighter and I dont pick him to win but I just cannot see the Knockout coming but hey if Ortiz stopped him, that would be much more impressive in my eyes and he would be deserving of a title shot if not now. He doesn't need to fight anymore cans. Similar to Daniel Jacobs, the boy needs to fight live opponents, 1 too many punching bags lol.

Id Rather see Torres vs Ortiz than Forbes, Forbes vs Oscar was a snoozefest, Oscar looked like a ****ing robot whilst Forbes couldn't even crack an egg.

There's no need to rush Jacobs or Andre Ward or even Andre Dirrell IMO. Boxing needs some new stars but they need stars with longevity. Way too many Fransisco Bojado, Fernando Vargas, Jeff Lacy types nowadays.

I'd much rather see prospects fighting EACH OTHER honestly. Kirkland, Angulo and Sergio Martinez all hang about the same weight class....yet chances are these guys don't see one another til about 2011.

Torres might be too much too soon for Ortiz IMO. He has the sort of power Ortiz hasn't had a chance to deal with yet. That would be like going from getting hit by your 5 year old little sister to getting whacked in the balls with a mallet from Gallagher.
