WTF why is Cleverly fighting a bum and trying to make him sound dangerous?

Do you expect Nathan to say, "Yeah, he's really ****, don't bother buying a ticket, ok?"

 

This is a longshot but I think, broadly speaking, the more people that watch the fight the better it is for Cleverly. So if he tells people its going to be a tough a fight then more people might watch it than if he tells people it will be an easy fight.

Just my 2p.

 

He has to sell the fight. Come on there's no other way. I can't see a trash talking war is going to sell it. Neither is Clev saying "well he's **** but I have to fight him".

Broadly speaking this fight will go 12 rounds, and the other guy will put more resistance than Tommy Karpency did but it will still be a blowout of an event. The problem is he probably KNOWS he won't knock this guy out and he's promising that it will be a "tough" fight so in the likelyhood that it goes the distance people don't start calling him featherfisted etc.

 

What makes me laugh is that the WBO only sanctioned the fight if winner faces mandatory challenger within 120 days - yet frank is on about cleverly fighting winner of Hopkins Dawson fight - frank trying to make himself and cleverly as much Cash as possible before he cleverly gets knocked out I believe..

 

This is similar to what his stable mate Joe C did.

If he's following JC'c model we can expect alot more of these fights until Cleverly's team feel he's made enough dough and can't escape any option other than to get serious like JC had to in the end.

The only good thing that can be said about this fight is that he is staying active.

But even then it should probably be a ten rounder on an undercard.

It's no world title fight.

 

Cleverly is happy fighting these guys, I think he found his level in the Bellew fight and more than likely knows if he steps up he'll be soundly beaten.

 

Milk that WBOLOLOLO belt for all they can (again).
