WTF why is Cleverly fighting a bum and trying to make him sound dangerous?

he has not faced anyone as a world champion that deserved the fight.

 

The more complains about this crap the better... Clev's opponents suck and he knows it. He was even complaining at Bunce's about people expecting him to fight "world level" opponents. :-(

 

I actually think he and Fwank know he isnt ready for a real world title fight!

 

The main event is not very good at all for a boxing fan .Tbh i'll probably just watch the undercard .Sam Webb Matthew Hall looks decent .There's an article on the scene W****n on Clev Hopkins about Hopkins getting a big pay
day if he comes across the pond for the first time .

 

Iv heard there trying to sort what weight it would be held at and Clev is fighting Kimbo slice ( com on Kimbo )

 

Trash talking only works if its a good hard fight for both.

Because this isnt a great match up, he has to sell it. He needs to become a household name so he c an get those bigger fights over the next 2 or 3 years

He has to just point out the good points about this opponent so we as fight fans dont see it for what it is. As a big follower of the sport i, and indeed pretty much all of us on here know its not great and whatever he says we know its not great.

Lets just hope that hes a bit awkward so he makes cleverly at least work for the W.

This fight wont make him a hoouse hold name but he is creating a following and become a world champion with several defenses. A bit like Burns is doing in Scotland. Calzaghe did it as well.

If youre a world champion and you have over 8 or 9 defenses to your name then you will automatically be a big name, at least in your own country. I was at the o2 and the crowd were really supportive of him.

 

I'm not sure he wants the big fights to be honest.

He's quite comfortable doing what he's doing IMO.

In order to succeed at world level he's going to have a make serious career changing decisions, ones that I'm not convinced he can make - or feels he needs to make either.

 

Cleverly is such a **** belt holder it's untrue.

The last two fights haven't even been mandatory defences, he's actually volunteered to fight these guys.

I'm not expecting him to be great but he could atleast fight the likes of campillo, sillakh, johnson, erdei etc.

The guy is making a claim to being the lhw champion of the world, he should be fighting ranked opponents.

Calzaghe started off much better then Clev: fought a former World Champion to win the belt, a 3 time world title challenger in his second defense (Gimenez) and then defended it against Robin Reid (former champ) in his third defense.

It was a shame Clev didnt get Braehmer. To win the belt from the champ would have deflected some criticism.

WTF is Shumenov's story? That would have been a nice unification bout.
