Once a year is really inactive no doubt, but hes still top tier fighter. Hes getting paid good money. It can't be better. I know them personally from the amateurs. They're whole family is in this for the long haul. Hes building a dynasty.

I can't see anyone in featherweight beating him outside of Santa Cruz or Frampton maybe Valdez. But I think he wants a rematch with Loma which I hope happens. I think Gary has been working heavily on everything he learned that night.

He was basically born in it because of his dad.. Reminds me of a lot of prodigies who’s been trained from birth to do one thing and they master but don’t really enjoy doing it.. And also mentioned in interviews that his career won’t be long due to his brittle hands.. He injured them again on Saturday..

Must be mentally draining to injure your hands so often. I have had issues with one of my knees for near a decade now, and at one point it really got to me mentally.
But at least hes getting paid really well.

Boxing is one of the most brutal sport and GRJ has paid his dues and reached the top of the sport.

GRJ just said on Showtime he's been boxing for over twenty five years and only has five fights left in him then retirement (Loma being one of them)

He seems to be content with it, which is a shame because he's a pretty good fighter.

I like the guy, I think he has a rare talent, but I don't think he really likes to fight. And I think he is one of those guys who thinks his fights are worth more that they really are

Probably better than an aging Gonzales.

That's a quality win for Loma. Russell is in my PFP top 10. He handled the size disparity Saturday night like a G, and he did it with an injured hand. I wish he would fight three or four times a year. Also wish Cowards like Leo PantyCruz, and the Cowardly Lion of Belfast would stop ducking. They have no shame.

imo daiz is not that good and will more then likely be an opponent now because the way he fought he did just enough to lose

Yeah, that's pretty much my take. He seems contempt with the direction his career is going. But doesn't "love" boxing. He'll make good money, leave a decent CV. But it probably could be more if he wanted.
