Wayne, I agree with you on this one. I thought Willie had it down pat and was pretty surprised with what happened and even moreso, what occured afterwards. It was shocking. I also agree with you on the Billy comment. For a bloke who copped some serious flak from Wille and is not the most popular bloke on this forum, I thought he showed some real class. I'd met him at a charity function for sick kids a little while back and got an autograph for my young nephew. Another boxer was also there. The way Billy Dib contrinbuted was unbelievable. he made a point of talking to everyone, taking photos, shadow sparring with kids and was a genuine nice bloke. He hung around much longer than anyone else and donated a heap of stuff to be auctioned. From that moment, regrdless of his boxing skills, I thought of him as a real top person, someone who wants to give something back when really, he doesn't need to. What he did on Friday night just highlights that even further. Billy Dib risked his own safety and did what he could to help someone who needed it, regardless of any feud. He cops a lot of crap and yet he remains poised and humble. Compared to the other boxer at the charity function (a feted Australian world champion), Billy Dib was nothing but pure class. Also mate, it probably doesn't mean much, but you are to be respected for your own comment and the prepose that no are no fan of his. At least you call it as you see it.
Bloody terrible. doesn't hold well for upcoming fights. Aust. Boxing doesn't need this sort of thing. What ends up happening is that the focus moves away from the fight completely and it shifts to events that were nothing short of disgraceful. Still can't believe the KO - I thought Wille had a great deal more. He will come back - you can count on it. I remember a bloke I used to work with once told me, when discussing boxing and the old timers "you are only ever 1 punch away from a loss" How true that!

Mate, certainly not. Wayne often is quite opinionated (I suppose that's in the spirit of the forum), especially against Billy Dib. So for him to acknowledge something good, well that's where the rap came from. That's why I wrote something in the way I did.
