I say they arent as relative as the Ring because I dont think most boxing fans even know who they are. Its hard to be relevant to a situation when youre practically obscure. But again I support them and hoped they would have gained more traction by now, hopefully they still do.
Well most boxing fans dont even know or cant name the champions of boxing-which in itself is the root problem for which they were created. I know I always check them and the Ring for rankings. You know when 2 top 10 fuys or 2 top 5 guys are fighting this way.
The lineage is created by a consensus champ and since there is a disagreement between the ranking outlets we can't automatically say The Ring champion will be the lineal. I think the winner would have to beat Barrios to truly solidify himself as the champ. But yet again, we will see how the boxing public and press reacts to the result. Nothing wrong with that. Championships should be hard to win and almost impossible to lose if you don't get beat in the ring. Charlo is still the lineal champion at LMW.
Ennis and Stanionis are probably head to head the best welterweights. However I don't think neither has done enough to solidify themselves as the number one and two fighters, and I don't think this should be for the Ring or Lineal belt.
It's pretty crazy. The TBRB has Abel Ramos ranked 4th at 147 and he's only won two of his last six fights. No rating system is perfect and I really like what the TBRB does but that's definitely a bad ranking.
