; gotta go with Carr saw him a couple of times.HE IS ONE OF THOSE FIGHTERS WHO COULD HAVEGONE FURTHER given different circumstances
While I don’t dispute the pick, I am curious as to why you write in caps? Are you mad and yelling your answer at me/us? Or did you hit caps lock by accident?
I go with Zab. Southpaw style and quick which would offset Oba quickness.. Oba was tougher than Zab chin wise, but not much. I just think Zab was a little better all around.
Zab takes him out. Zab proved he could beat Witter wide and Cory Spinks during his prime. His past-it wins like stopping Vernon Paris and scraping by Mattyhsse are also good. Carr was known for losing and never really beat a good string of champions or contenders.
I think Carr would take it. I think Zab’s speed would help him in the early going, but between 6-10 Carr comes on evening it up, closing the show for a 7-5 type Carr decision
If it's the Zab that destroyed Spinks in the rematch, then I lean towards Judah. Like I said in the Carr thread... Oba was overrated as Hell.
I am not sure who overrated him? He seldom is mentioned in threads, and I have never heard anyone on this forum ever rate him highly in any context.
It's been said many times in the past on various forums and by boxing writers that Oba Carr was a guy who could have ruled welterweight had he not been in such a deep division. It's a comical assumption to make, considering he has no real notable win at 147, and that he got gifts over both Coley and Bramble. A Bramble whose peak was in the mid 80s at 135. Zab wasnt much better though. Judah arguably lost at 147 to a shot Rafael Pineda.
