Brock "Here Comes the Pain" Lesnar, former WWE Champ is living proof. All you MMA Fanboys had better pray to Baby Jesus that Kurt Angle doesnt decide to make the switch! :smoke
Couture, even thought one of my top 2 favorite fighters, is and has been always overrated. Said that, I still think his loss to Brock is a treachery.
since Brock is areal athlete with real Wrestling credentials at a high level very few MMA fans have a hard time with him being successfull. If the Undertaker or HHH came in and had success that would be a different story. Or even worse a boxer. But let's be honest this is really about your hate for what is happening in boxing and the slow bleeding of that once fine sport. Brock is a real athlete an a beast at that and will help MMA. Or I could pay more money to watch an Andrew Golata vs Ray Austin match.
Your failing is no good here. Early examples of Brock have existed for the entire history of MMA, he is a physically dominant wrestler, there have been many before him and will be many after him. MMA fighters have often done pro wrestling to pay the bills, hell the whole industry of pro wrestling was built around guys with legit skills needing a way to make more money by putting on more shows, therefore they agreed to just fake the matches. Angle is too old now, but could have been a great fighter. Its obvious that you know this and are trolling, because you picked probably the only other pro "wrestler" that has real wrestling ability on the level of Lesnar, but he is simply too beat up to fight, I doubt he would get a license even.
Hows that? Oh, thats right, you're one of those people who think Couture would **** both Nog and Fedor up.
I'm proud of you, Jack... it's still a crap thread, but at least it's not about your obsession with black *****.
You make a great point. I didnt watch the Lesnar fight last night, as I was watching an HBO fight, admittedly, not as exciting and fun as watching Lesnar take apart Couture, but I did catch footage of the quick work, via a good friend. :hey Anyway, I was impressed, not only by "Here comes the pain" but by the whole production. MMA has come a long way since my "Uncaged Rage" 2 DVD set. I dont think it has affected Boxing one iota. But the WWE and TNA is another matter. Back in the 60's, 70's 80's and even up to the late 90's and early 00's. Pro Rasslin WAS MMA. People would get excited and worked up to watch the Freebirds and the Von Erichs, or Bruno and Superstar Graham pretend to do to each other what the MMA guys really do to each other. It was speculated that it was a fraud, but until McMahon broke kayfabe so he wouldnt have to pay fees to the State Athletic Commissions, and he changed WWF to World Wrestling Entertainment, there was no longer any doubt. Now people KNEW they were watching a male soap opera. It remained somewhat entertaining through about 2002 or so. But it does cause legitimate injuries, and with the Superstars of the 80's growing old, and most of the Superstars of the new era, about as exciting as sand, it has started a fall as of late, that it will not recover from, and add to this MMA's legitimacy, and growing fanbase. People would much rather pay 50 bucks and have fight parties to watch Lesnar and Couture, and a great undercard, than watch a staged PPV Wrestling match between Edge and Carlito. You are correct about the Golota analogy. Boxing can be boring. But it can be amazing as well. I hate Roy Jones Jr. and watchiing that Welshman systematically beat the **** out of his aging ass did my heart good. I think that now Kurt Angle will make the plunge. He stated in his autobiography, that he used to like to **** with hapless Triple H by shooting on his ass for real and putting him on his back while he was flexing in the ring, and would get him pissed off. And I have a feeling that Lashley might surprise us all.
Bobby Lashley is gonna **** the hot little UFC Ringgirls after the matches the way he impregnated 1/2 the WWE Divas, baby, and we all know why!:hey
Brock Lesnar has been training in MMA for quite some time, and his backround used for his fighting isn't his WWE experience, it is his REAL wrestling experience. WWE was simply a way to make a lot of money, and I don't blame him for it.
Here are some interesting things I heard on an intrview w/Kurt Angle on Kellerman's ESPN radio show last week : While both still in the WWE Kurt Angle and Lesner got into a real fight and of course it was mostly wrestling and Angle onwed Brock Another thing that ANGLE stated is that he recently took the MMA physical so expect him to be in MMA sometime next year ..
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl The Ultimate Warrior would ****ing tear threw the UFC like Multi-Colored Plague!!!
Angle's old now and I think he has suffered some serious injuries. In his prime though he would have most likely dominated MMA.
