    Novoa's height, pressure, and work rate was just too much for him. Zhong looked devoid of ideas. Running didn't work, holding didn't work, and slugging with Novoa didn't work... so by the end of the fifth he was literally just walking backwards getting rocked.

    Tough little ******* though, stood up to a lot of punishment...and his place in history is secured as China's first world champ.

    He didn't seem that hurt to me but i haven't watched many of these smaller weight class fights so maybe this stoppage wasn't that bad.

    I'm guessing you just skipped ahead to near the end of the 5th round instead of watching the entire thing? He was taking more and more punishment and giving less and less back from the 2nd (which he barely edged IMO, and which all three judges gave Novoa) onward.

    Excellent call from Bruce McTavish. Zhong was starting to wilt, and was too hardheaded for his own good. If left to wait until he fell of his own accord it could have meant the end of his career or yet another ring tragedy.

    Novoa is 5' 3.5", which is average for straw, maybe slightly tall.

    Zhong is 4' 10.5", which is ridiculously tiny. He is as small a boxer as you will find and might rank among the smallest boxing world champions ever. Other than Baby Jake Matlala, you would be hard pressed to find one smaller in history.

    Ivan Calderon was also smallish, but Zhong is very small, I feel that the weight should be adjusted with 4 lbs between each weight. That way Straw can be clearly distinguished from Fly (without adding anymore divisions!)

    Zhong can be world champion again, he has the skillset.

    I don't think Novoa is necessarily better than him, he was the better man in this fight though.

    Zhong could beat him in a rematch

    I think Zhong should go for the WBC Silver belt instead, the Chinese fans will still back him & he already made history as the first Chinese World champion.

    He can defend the WBC Silver title & let his body recuperate from this fight as he toke lots of hard punches from a bigger man who was catching him flush over & over...no point of an instant rematch :nono
