According to Boxrec's algorithm's the current number one super middleweight in the world is Jesse Hart. That is just absurd. Maybe Alvarez can drop down in weight and fight the top five Boxrec super middleweights in the same night, ala George Foreman. Those five would be Hart, Andrade, Jacobs, Ryder and Plant. Benavidez is number 6!
They now have jesse hart 6th at light heavy its bizzare how hes continuously ranked way higher than he should be on boxrec for years. Is he paying boxrec or something lol
Heheh...well if you are up for a bit of arithmetic, you pay an article entitled "THE INFAMOUS BOXREC RANKING FORMULA EXPLAINED IN DETAIL" a visit. It is not "light reading". Their rankings are computed by a series of mathematical formula - not compiled by a team of live experts.
That's BoxRec for you, but if your favorite fighter is on top in their section's then you'll praise it up & down, The site itself seems so dull & run down like it came out in the early days of dial-up, along with the fact that it doesn't have anything added or more that separates itself from basic wiki like sites.
Maybe i'm blind but on my Boxrec screen Jesse Hart is the #6 at SMW and Clenelo the #1. Andrade is #2, Ryder #3, Jacobs #4 and Benavidez #5. Boxrec has some strange rankings but i don't get this one.
BoxRec is great for information/statistics. But it's good to have some kind of authority that is not a federation, but still respected one and giving her own vision. Not saying this is the case with BoxRec, but it could be.
