Yeah they said it was premature to make the Gonzales vs Inoue matchup until Inoue was more established in the US. Now Gonzales seems to be on the way out and it will never happen. Yafai is now 28, which is 4 years older than Inoue. He's probably at his peak and not going to get any better. He should take the fight while the opportunity is still there.
The difference is that Inoue himself said that he wasn't ready for Roman. Serious sign of maturity/confidence. Yafai has said that he wants the best.
