    Cleverly got more money as part of the UK tv rights money. But that was the undercard chief support for Mayweather v McConor ffs. Hundreds of thousands were tuning in for that. I doubt more than 20,000 Brits just watched that Yafai fight live, it’s past 3am.

    It's also a contributing factor as to why many fighters from, say, Super Flyweight down, either fight on far too long or retire then make an ill-advised return to the sport. The number of guys who fight in these lower weight classes and who make the type of money Kal Yafai got for this fight (never mind the Michael Carbajal-type paydays or the Roman Gonzalez-type paydays) truly are few and far between.

    They have other contracts than this one. When a repoter asked Jean Pascal how come he's getting only 25K for his ' retirement ' fight he said he's got another contract in Nevada, and the fight was in Miami FL

    Adrien Broner also said he's getting paid more than the reported 1M $
