On yahoo.com's sports boxing section (which is tied into The Ring Magazine), there is a poll posted asking fans who they think Bernard Hopkins should fight next.

Out of a whopping 20,636 votes (the last time I checked)>>>

    7% picked Tomasz Adamek

15% picked the winner of Chad Dawson/Glen Johnson

21% picked the winner of Paul Williams/Kelly Pavlik

    58% PICKED ROY JONES JR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So much for Hop's claim that the public doesn't want to see the long overdue rematch. HBO should rethink this possibility because over 10,000 fans want it at the very least.

Anybody that wants to see that fight is stuck in the 1990's.

News flash: We're one year away from the 2010's.

This poll just proves my theory that Jones/Hopkins would do surprisingly well on PPV. A lot better than most think.

The dumbmest part of the list is the option of Pavlik/Williams winner. They should have just had Williams alone instead because even if Pavlik wins why would Hopkins consider a fight with Pavlik after dominating him from rounds 1 through 12.

That's the point/goal, it's all about attracting the "idiots" who are usually the casual fans. The target is never the hardcore fans because they will tune in/buy regardless. The more casual fans are attracted the more $.

I'm not surprised all want to see a Jones rematch. I'd rather see both guys retire but if Hops wants to go then a fight with Roy would be very intriguing.

Adamek is already moving up after turning down the offer and even though Dawson is a good fight I would expect a lot more attention/money in a Jones fight.
