Like pac beat Floyd to get the P4P #1.

Shane Mosley was the man at WW when Floyd scored a W over him, and what weight class does emmanuel fight out of?

That same 38 year old man that emmanuel's camp wanted nothing to do with.

You mean towards Pac? Crazy! Something bothers me about where he's from. Please this is not supposed to be a racist comment but that story that broke about how pac was supposedly involved in an attempted assasination on his political adversary got me thinking a little. It was just about the stupidest thing ever because it was obvious that the idiot had set up the attempt as some last ditch effort to make pac look bad. But still it just got me thinking that the world that he is from is completely different from mine and not something that I could easily wrap my head around. Also when his supporters come out and throw around some of the most senseless **** I've ever heard like they have here it just re-enforces that thought. I don't know what to make of the philipean and I haven't got a clue what goest through the minds of his supporters.

I disagree. What causes pac to be underrated are when his fans say such bull**** as he could beat Duran, Leoanard, prime Hoya, Chavez, or Sweat Pea.

Who cares about the yahoo ranking anyways. The only one that counts is the ring ranking and pac is # 1.

    Actually this is quite sad....

Meh, I actually didn't care who was number 1, but you paint my people who love Pac blindly?

    This is just offensive...

It's *Filipino* (to lessen the chances of you being called racist in the future :D

I think the Pac phenomenon can be compared to (and I'm just using movies as a reference, since I'm not from the US) how the people reacted the the racehorse Seabiscuit or to James Braddock back during the depression. Times were hard and people needed a... let's say a symbol to keep their hopes up. An inspirational story for them to pin their hopes and dreams on. There you had a lot of people living in really tough times, seeing in Seabiscuit or Braddock hope that no matter how down and out you may feel you are, you still have a chance to make it big. They had someone they could relate to and they loved them for it.

Same case with Pac, the Philippines being a poor country, I think a lot of the people here see in Pac the same thing people saw back during the depression. And i guess in order to understand how much loyalty and pride someone like Pac could evoke here in the Philippines, you also have to understand how tough life can get in here. I mean, I do well for myself and live pretty comfortably, and maybe that's the reason why even though Pac is my favorite fighter, I could understand (and disagree) that Floyd gets the #1 P4P spot, because I'm not as emotionally invested as other Filipinos. And with the onset of really cheap internet, practically anyone, especially in the cities can send an email, hence the angry emails Iole got. That's why I generally tend to ignore these rabid kinds of fans, they really don't know any better when it comes to boxing, but it's not really their fault, for them this isn't about boxing.

At the same time, I find comments that "Pac is all they have, it's pathetic" offensive. They love the guy for sure, but to assume that people live and breathe Pac here, to assume that people would actually make him our president shows how people can be so ignorant about us pinoy's. Like I said, for a lot of pinoy's this isn't just about boxing but at the same time, Pinoy's have a lot on their plate and are surviving despite the problems here like poverty and corruption. To assume that we'd be dumb enough to actually think Pac is some sort of savior is ignorant. We love they guy and draw inspiration from him, but that's about it.

Some Pac fans are pathetic. Obviously I'm talking about the *******s. It's as if they have an emotional stake in the manner. Of all the criticisms Floyd gets in the media it's amazing how these Pacanics (Possibly a new name for them, they panic). actually throw racism into the equation.

That' a shame. It wasn't like Iole is the sole voter for the Yahoo Sports rankings. They have a panel that had 20 boxing writers voting Floyd #1 and 13 boxing writers voting for Manny. It's all opinion anyway. To be honest I wasn't at all shocked they would have Floyd #1. They voted Floyd #1 for a month after he dominated a blown up lightweight JM Marquez for 12 rounds, even after Pac had Hatton seeing the gates of heaven for a few minutes.

Alot of the hate comes from articles posted on Pacland by ******* boxing writers attacking Yahoo Sports, of which surprisingly, were written by non-Filipino boxing writers.

You've just defined what a ******* is and why many hate their fans. The most homotional fans ever. You will never ever hear or have a story like this from any other fan-base ever. I've noticed they've seemed to disperse from this site and back to Pac-land though. Good... they'll come back out when Pac fights or wins next.

    Yes.

And remember, ESB general forum, the Philippines may not be a rich country, but a LOT of us are surprisingly online.

Internet cafes are all over the archipelago.

Almost every street and/or town plaza/center has at least one internet shop.

And it costs as little as 0.25 US cents an hour to rent.

So, literally, even a kindergarten Filipino kid can afford to go online and post

"PAC GREATEST! YEAH!" on a boxing message board.

You guys have to realise that.

It's wide open. I'm not kidding.

So what you are saying is, more than half the pac fans on here are really still in kindergarten.

I also maintain that pinoy poster's are the most net savvy in the forum in general.

Hence the disproportionate amount of Pac gif's and Floyd..erm. photo-shopped images

You said the same thing about him being congressman. Nobody takes him seriously... yet look what we have here. A politician. The Seabiscut and Braddock analogies are hardly apt or comparable. Although the stories are great and they were great stories for their time. I understand the "Hard-times" and having something to "look up towards" and that's fine and well. That's what we have with great stories. But a lot of that *******s are not just Pinoys (It's easier to spell) but Fillipino-Americans. The ones you see with the hate emails, and posting on ESB. I know there are tons of posters from all over the world but I get the impression that many of them come from residents residing in Europe or America. Not all, though; I get that sense though (Don't know for sure). The lengths they got to hate on opponents or other fighters in effort to defend Pac is embarrassing.
