I'm saying ANYBODY from the Philippines can post in the internet.

An out of school teen with nothing to do but troll on messageboards and update their gaudy Friendster profiles and be annoying all over the net.

Or somebody who doesnt really follow a lot of boxing, but has 25 cents to spare and 1 hour to kill. What the hell, google PACQUIAO and lets see what happens.

A lot of Filipinos are a bit thin skinned, I have to admit.

Face to face, they can be very friendly, and they'll treat you with respect and be nice to you. So when they read stuff on the internet that hurts their feelings, they get upset and say things that they don't really mean or believe in, but say because they know it will also hurt the person who has insulted/hurt them, online.

I get the impression that a lot of Pac fans aren't from the Philippines. At least the ones that post here. Could I just be wrong in my assumptions? I get a sense and impression from the way some people talk around here.

A lot of Filipinos work abroad.
But a lot of Fil-Ams live in the west coast and some in the East coast.

    This is bull****...

Don't make excuses for the ugly, vile, hateful, racist bull**** that Filipinos blast all over the internet by saying it's only in response to others. It's not. A person who says anything critical of Pac (not even in a mean way) is immediately attacked and called a "*****" even if they have never mentioned Mayweather. Attack and attack is all they do. And there is no comparison to the Floyd fans. They may have an air of arrogance, but very few of them attack Pac, his fans, and his race on a personal level that Pac fans attack. It's pretty shameful and there really is no excuse for it.

But it's the internet, so you really can't do anything about it except shake your head and ignore it.

I admit I was wrong about him being congressman, but that was more an exception than the norm and in a relatively small district in Mindanao (where politics is stranger than usual). Dismal performances of most of his other endeavors outside boxing still make me think that people don't think of him outside his boxing.

I don't know about most being Filipino Americans, a lot of the Pinoy posters here are actually living in the Philippines. But it's all speculation given how Iole didn't elaborate on the hate mail or the senders.

I agree that there are some real racist/bigot Filipinos here.

I'm not defending them. They are assholes who should be IP blocked.

But they're not as many as you think.

And we're not all like that.

And some of those guys are just not very educated, and only knows how to type in english and compose english sentences, and they don't know the real gravity of the things they say.

They just know that somehow, black people get mad when you call them ______, Mexican people get mad when you call them _______, etc. etc.

A lot of them are just internet assholes.

They're what? Maybe a thousand ******* jerks all over the net?

But people think the whole Philippines, 100 million of us think exactly like them.

True enough, I think the anonymous nature of the net has a tendency to make people show all their biases and hatred. That applies to almost everyone all the round the world. Everyone is a little bit racist after all.

Still Bula's right. Pinoy's can be really thin skinned when it comes to criticism in general, it balances us being warm and friendly in general.

Ever since the start, we never really start trouble here.

Sure, a couple of guys were really, really overzealous and excited and pumped up Pac's wins all the time (this was in the mid 2000s) and the worst thing that he'll probably say is that

"Pac can beat ______, I'm sure of it!"

But what he gets in response?

He gets bashed around and ridiculed

    "Go back to pacland, idiot"
"Youre not a real boxing fan"
"You only watched boxing last week"

    etc, etc.

    so he retaliates.

I'm not including the youtube idiots, they're really bad. I agree.

You keep doing this... I don't get it. Floyd probably won money off Pac. Doesn't make him a fan, makes him a fan of winning money. He isn't?

Thanks for your candide posts. Also I wouldn't worry about people thinking the whole of the philippines is a rabit blood thirsty moob. Your point about thin skin in pretty enlightening though.
