Y'all hate on the Canelo GGG decisions yet dont mention how the Ward Kovalev fights were also iffy.

LOL Go away! Fools went hog wild after those decisions. People hate Ward to this day. If Ward was still active, you can bet the hate would resurface each and everytime he fought. Where have you been?

It's universally recognised that Kovalev beat Ward first time round and people still go on about the low blows now years after the fact.

Most on here thought the first fight was a suspect decision. That version of Ward would beat Canelo.

 

Any version of Ward would, to be fair.

 

A bigger magnifying glass on Canelo because he's 20x the star that Ward was.

Kovalev beat Ward 8-4 in the first fight and scored a knockdown. It wasn't close at all.
GGG also beat Canelo 8-4 in the first fight, without a KD. It wasn't close.

 

This place was rabid with Ward/Kovalev hate until Canelo took center stage and pushed the rest to the back burner, aided by Ward retiring. Make no mistake, the push to emphasize how close/controversial Ward/Kovalev I is still very much alive.

 

Kovalev clearly beats and i mean 50000000% beat Ward, second fight there was millions of low blow. And i don't see how can anyone even make a case for Ward winning the first fight.

 

One fight has jack **** to do with the other. Plenty here have said Ward was gifted the win. Terrible post...

 

Ggg got more meat riders than Kovalev, from my vantage point I had Kovalev winning fight 1 and thought low blows weee the reason for fight 2.. Canelo GGG fight I had fight 1 a draw and fight 2 8-4 for Canelo… the Kovalev-Ward fights were WAYYYYY more controversial but GGG has the most brain dead fans so that’s why Kovalev gets bashed because if they were being honest it would boost up Canelo’s win

I don't think people look at it differently it's just Ward has been retired for a while so i'ts not fresh in the mind. Canelo is a cash cow and current no double standard just a different context.

 

I just mentioned them both in the quote above in the Kovalev HOF thread.. History is not fair to robberies ether because 10 years from now people will look at Andre Wards resume and say he was an undefeated fighter.. Just how no one remembers that Whitaker should have a win vs Chavez Sr not a draw..

 

GGG and Kovalev were both robbed.

I actually think Kovalev and Ward at their best were better fighters than GGG and Canelo.

 

GGG was robbed in two fights with Canelo.
Kovalev was robbed in his first fight with Ward. Second fight Ward should have been deducted a point or two and Kovalev given a 5 minute timeout to recover. A DQ may also have been proper.
