Y'all hate on the Canelo GGG decisions yet dont mention how the Ward Kovalev fights were also iffy.

People still hate Ward to this day for both the fights. I was a Ward fan and looking back I was a bit bias towards him. After re watching the fight I had Kovalev winning 114-113 with the knock down being the difference, the second fight I think Ward was robbed of a grand stand finished he had Kovalev done and was on the verge of knocking him out either way Ward proved he was the better fighter in the end. The first Canelo GGG fight wasn't exactly close, it was competitive but a clear 116-112 win for GGG

 

Ya, Kovalev won the first fight against Ward. I can't remember my score exactly but I think I had it 7-5 + KD. Ward did well to hang in there and make it close but he should not have gotten the decision. I felt that Kovalev was winning the second fight even more widely until a combination of poor conditioning, low blows and body blows stopped it. Ward may even have been on course for a legitimate stoppage but messed it up by doing what Ward does and socking Kova's nuts like a pinata.

I felt that GGG beat Canelo both fights 8-4, going forward and fighting off the backfoot. My main gripe is that inconsistent judging standards are applied to these fights. Canelo gets praised for countering Golovkin a lot and making him miss in the first fight, but when Golovkin returned the favour in the second, the same things Canelo was praised for in #1 don't count anymore. The only thing that to me is unarguable is that GGG wanted it more and landed more, both fights.
