Basically just meant I think he is a good bloke in general., i do not judge him on the character he portrays to hype himself, but on his deeds away from the ring etc.,

    Any ways,,, back to RJJ?

funny thing about rjj vs danny green is that when roy finally got to his feet green hit him with everything and couldnt finish him,the ref just decided rjj had had enough.
Nice power danny, you him 22times and he just stood there.

Roy needs to retire now. It's not going to end good for him if he keeps fighting.

Watched a bit of the fight and while the hand speed is still there, he has absolutely NO legs at all. Was pretty much fighting flat-footed the entire fight with zero movement. He will be knocked out again as soon as he faces any decent mid-tier fighter in the division.

Sad to see really, as I like him as a commentator and would much rather see him behind the mic rather than in still in the ring.

hey mate I have not seen any of it yet. Did he hold his hands up and ride punches? rather than that stand still hanging hands out in front stuff?

Bcus his legs are gone and needs to fight bit more othordox. He said in interview he has changed style, has he though?

If he dont then he will go down again.

The full fight is up on the general forum (might take some finding now). He did have pretty bad foot work, and looked lazy, BUT his hand speed is still ridiculous, and his infighting was pretty awesome, (landing uppercuts at absolute will), jabbed pretty good, and as always good left hook., Looked like he could have put him away several times, but seemed content to go the distance, tried to do some ol school show boating (not looking at opponent, talking to the crowd whilst in a clinch and exchanging).

Probably never challenge for a real title again, HOWEVER, i don't begrudge him having a final run, and I hope against hope the champ can find that special something and get the fairytail!

I loved watching Roy Jones in his prime. He was incredible and barely lost a round when he fought. He made other elite fighters look like chumps. Unfortunately Roy has been finished for a good 6 yrs or so now, ever since Tarver ko'd him.The guy is deluded beyond belief these days and is making himself look silly. He can still defeat B-level fighters but against the best in the division he gets KTFO. Roy won't give it away gracefully he will go out on his back.

I thought he looked similar to how he fought (and dominated) against Lacy. Then again it's not hard to look good against shithouse competition. He was pretty much just standing still the entire fight.

I don't think Roy is quite as deluded as some people say he is. Deep down inside he probably knows he is only just a shadow of his former self. I just think he genuinely loves the sport and just enjoys to fight, which is why he keeps doing it. I just fear the final image of Roy's career will be a similar scene from the Glen Johnson fight - Jones on his back put to sleep.

Yeah I watched the fight against Alexander. Gee Alexander wass in sh1thouse condition. I thought RJJ looked very slow on his feet. It might have been that he just didnt need to move though. The TV production was not the best. But he still did not work hands up defence, when he fights top guys they will just catch him again.

But I like your second para, I agree. I think he knows what his got left. Cruiser is not the strongest division and its still possible he could get a title even this current state of RJJ with those 3 losses again. If he dosnt on this last run he will still have fun trying.
