He should retire off this win and enjoy the commentating lifestyle. He had a great career, now it's time to enjoy the fruits of life.

Commentating is a cushy retirement, he should embrace it.

 

Best advice possible for both Jones and Maccarinelli.

Unfortunately, you've still got Tarver out there setting a bad example for them and a precedent for guys who can just set down the mic and pick the gloves back up and keep on keeping on after everybody had written them off. The difference is - they're not him and can't do it just because he can. The difference is that Tarver always had a much more conservative style that didn't rely on potentially erosive physical assets as much (Jones relied on reflexes and athleticism; Macca on knocking people out) - and, most importantly...when has Tarver ever been KTFO the way either of them has? (multiple times)

 

Worst thing is, there are people around him feeding him "YOU LOOK GOOD" type of comments.

Someone in his camp needs to step up and tell him to retire, **** sakes.

 

It has to be the fans that turn on him.

He won't listen to any of his advisers at this point, since he's fighting on beyond any logic. People in his camp have probably either gone blue in the face telling him already, or they don't give a **** about him and are just money grubbing leeches if they haven't done so by now.

He thinks he's got a fan base and that's part of what drives his quixotic crusade to regain some of his faded glory (same as Holyfield).

Jones fans and Holyfield fans need to boycott their PPVs, not show up at the gates, make them get hit in the face for thinner and thinner crowds at smaller and smaller venues with more and more empty seats...and any online comments about their current ability need to be BRUTALLY HONEST (ie, negative), not pandering - and maybe they'll get the picture.

If they ever truly believe the fans aren't buying what they're selling anymore, I think both Roy and Evander would stop (unless the latter has mismanaged his finances more spectacularly than anyone could have guessed)
