Get ready to see him pick up his 2nd world title in only his 8th pro fight as he takes on Moises Fuentes this weekend in Japan. Fuentes is a good fighter but Tanaka is the real-deal spitfire.

I guess we can call this the Roman Gonzalez syndrome around here.

    I'll bite.

Tanaka's got some serious defensive issues and Fuentes is pretty good at pressuring speedsters. I think he can draw Kosei into a firefight and that point it becomes even money as to whom emerges from as the victor. But yeah, this has the potential to be a last minute candidate for FOTY.

Tanaka looked better last time than he did a year ago, think 108lb will suit him well. He looked like a dwarf next to Fuentes at the physical though =/

When he's on his bike he's fine, but he likes to stand in front and fire a fair amount...and gets tagged a fair amount while doing so.

Even if Tanaka wins his second title in as many weight classes he still won't get any love. I mean, look at how people have been dissing Roman Gonzalez of late because he wants more money for a rematch with Cuadras. All Roman has done is win and looked good doing it but people still slam him because he's 'small'.

No one is slamming Roman because he's small, they're slamming him because he barely beat and IMO lost to Cuadras, and instead of just giving Cuadras a rematch and a chance to win back his title he's acting like a diva now and wants more money. The reality is he got the worst ass beating of his lifetime and has doubts he'll finish the rematch on his feet. Super Flyweight is already proving to be a bridge too far for Roman and he's looking to cash out.

Fuentes will most likely outwork Tanaka and lose a controversial SD or KO Tanaka.

I'm thinking too much too soon right now For Tanaka. I've been seeing YT video of Tanaka and he's pretty good, but like another poster already touched on, he gets hit way too much.

Wrong as usual; just like you are wrong about Roman losing to Cuadras.
