Groves will become something special but the fight is too soon for him now... Degale has matured much quicker and will take Groves apart in 2-3 rounds... It won't even be close.

 

That's nonsense... The fight is not to soon for Groves. I'm not sure why people are affording DeGale world class status on the back of the Smith fight??

Groves has a spearing jab (when he chooses to use it), & he has is a excellent body puncher (when he chooses to use it) I think bodywork is the key for Groves in this fight.

At the very worst Groves has a punchers chance.

I'm in the minority, but I think Groves will stop him.

 

i think groves will start off well in this fight, but i see degale gettin groves with a couple of flash knockdowns, niether man will get stopped but degale will win on points.

 

He has to hit him in the face, it is boxing after all. Seriously tho, Groves needs to stay focused, not lose his cool, and take the fight to Degale. Groves can win make no mistake, but I think James is the better boxer and will win over 12.

 

I keep switching my prediction, what do we really have to base any sort of prediction on, they are both still prospects.

What I do know is that for me, this fight is all about seing what each guy is about, the rivalry they have shows that neither is going to lay down.

I think for the Gentleman to win, he needs to outwork DeGale and nullify his superior technical skills and also actually guard his head rather than keep his lead hand so low - it doesn't work for him, he's not David Haye.

For JDG he needs to stop GGG from making it a messy affair, use his footwork to keep the fight at range and counter punch with his superior reflexes - I can see James walking GGG onto some telling shots. How effective those shots will be is another questions, I'm not sold at all on DeGales power.

I can see this fight ending on a stoppage on the ropes in the later rounds, but for which fighter I don't know! :good

I think he needs to keep Degale under pressure, but in a controlled manner.

He also needs to be sharper defensively & not walk onto too many shots.

Its gonna be difficult & require a great performance but the Gentleman is a live underdog imo.

 

Degale will not have it all his own way. We've never seen him under pressure before. If he can come through he can win. But I think George might have his kryptonite.

 

I envisage a pretty scrappy and poor quality, albeit interesting fight that possibly goes the full 12. Both fighters will tire as they aren't used to the long distance fight and whoever takes those last few rounds will nick it close. Head says DeGale will win, but Groves wouldn't be a surprise.

 

DeGale has improved as a pro. Groves has got some quality experience in bouts like Adamu and Anderson but he hasn't improved technically. This might be the difference but now emotions are involved and alot of expectations to boot. Who can execute a strategy, who can control their emotions, who can handle the pressure?????

Groves and DeGale are evenly matched physically. They are both talented. Groves acting like Haye could be his downfall. If he doesn't act like Haye then this fight is winnable for him.

 

Could someone tell me who DeGale has been sparring?

I know Groves has been sparring Dirrell, which is amazing sparring for his level as far as I'm concerned, but who has JDG brought in?

I think Groves is in a great position, Booth seems to be willing to dedicate a lot of time and money on this kid.

 

Degale sparring clev apparantely. Groves needs a defence to have any chance.
If he brings the fight to degale he will get picked apart. Of he keeps it long and gets degale to move in, if he can be first with the punches he has a chance.
But I just think he is far to open and degale will exploit that. The low left hand will let degale in with a right jab all night long.
