Someone here was bagging Hassler for pulling out of that bout - it sounds like from what Charlie's written below he did pull out too.
I know for a fact that Hasler pulled out of that fight. I was up in Wodonga a week later and his team was shattered.
He is telling people around town that his not retired so im not sure whats going on, i thought it a bit suss that ziggy was looking for an opponent two days prior to the show when he knew a week prior that the fight wasnt going ahead for whatever reason. Did you come up to interview Humano or something Charlie? not much up this way to intrest a bloke like yourself other than our clean air hehe Hassler soccor team won the grand final the week prior to the show and hassler got on the **** with his mates that weekend so i initally suspected that the retirment story was true. So is he retired or did he just pull out?
I was there with Serge Yannick. We spent the night at Guy Moon's place and met Anthony McCracken and Peter Blake the next morning for 10 hard rounds in Guy's gym. According to Guy he has retired but there is a rumor that one of Matty's mates has got in his ear and wants to play manager. Not really sure what's going on but Matty's lost a bit of respect from those around him who helped him throughout his career and it would take a mighty effort to regain that respect. I met him a few times and thought he was a great kid with a lot of potential.
