Fought John Conteh, Victor Galindez (2) & Saad Muhammad for the LtHeavy Championship.

Fought Carlos DeLeon for the Cruiserweight Title.

All the fights were very competitive...even though he ended up losing in all of them.

Great to watch, all action. Unfortunately for him, he came along at a time the division was very, very strong.

He came within a whisker of beating Saad Muhammad.

I still find it amazing Saad survived this assault. He seemed out on his feet on the ropes, but somehow still slipped punches until Lopez tired himself out. Then Saad, fired back.

And this all time great round was on free TV. Those were the days.

One of my favorites, it always felt as if he had to race to avoid the fight being stopped on cuts.

One of the most educated and versatile left hands I've ever seen.

Well said! A real warrior with skills and decent power who happened to fight during a time of very good lightheavy's.

Watched all of his televised bouts. Lack of a punch hurt him.

He was in a very competitive era and came nearer to the title than other nearly men like Armando Muniz and Bomber Graham
