This opponent looks like the right test at this stage - well ranked and unbeaten

I can see why they didn't want the Burton fight - it is a hard fight and Burton is not well known. Yarde would have plenty to lose and not much to gain really -- he is the one getting the big billing and if it wasn't for him nobody would be talking about Burton on this

 

The Ford is decent, but this nonsense with Burton makes it seem a lot worse. Burton fight would have been better for sure but this is in its own rights is fine

Being a quality boxer and being a star are two very different things.

80% of Frank's stable are better boxers than Yarde.

 

If fast Eddie managed to sign Yarde today only AJ would be higher on his priority list.

Decision a few weeks ago.

 

you said "i can see why they don't want it, its a hard fight" that alone is what is wrong. and how is the british title, much more exposure, 5 time career high payday, "not much to gain"?

 

you can't say burton is rubbish and not a big enough name and then fight ford
