Yarde is probably the biggest puncher Kovalev’s been in with.

Pascal is the hardest hitting guy he’s fought, maybe Darnell Boone. Yarde looks to be a level above in the power department, albeit against overmatched opposition.

Kovalev has been stopped by two relatively light hitting guys, how well will he fare if Yarde can connect? If Yarde catches him early and gets his respect it could change the whole dynamic of the fight.

No, that would be guys that have actually dropped or stopped someone other than Hungarian bums, so Eleider Alvarez and Jean Pascal still have the edge here.

Also, you have to land to hurt someone. Alvarez is a LOT more technically sound than this hypejob.

9 of the 18 yarde's victories have losing record.

I dont know how can anyone think even about comparing this fabricated joke with kovalev.

    And dude, I hate kovalev.

Shabranskyy and Sillah are probably harder hitters than Yarde

I think Yarde hits hard enough to hurt an ageing Kov... He has youth and probably speed over Kov. But that's where it ends.
It's about levels. If Kov has took this fight seriously and has trained properly, then it's his by half way.
It's not a distance fight. Yarde has a punchers chance, and can't let Kov get into a rhythm early. His best chance imho is to go for him early.

Youth and power give Yarde a chance, not much else that I can see but those two things give him a slim chance

I can’t help but think Kovalev kills this dude since the Clenelo fight is next

A loss to Yarde sets him back a year trying to secure another big pay day

Yarde can only win by KO.

If Kovalev is in shape, he wins maybe a decision or maybe a KO, can be either

If he’s out of shape, it will be a slugfest and it won’t go 12

Weigh in will tell us some clues

He's also the most deluded he's ever been in with, and possibly the most inexperienced and overrated too.

Get real, Kovalev has hundreds of fights experience, Yarde has just over 20 as an amateur and pro combined. No-one in their right mind should be making up reasons to back Yarde.

What does Yarde have that Kovalev doesn't? Age? What else? Nothing. Just age. Kovalev can do everything Yarde can do, and so much more.

Let's call it like it is here.
Every one of the best opponents Yarde has been in with, would have been stopped or at least easily beaten by almost every single opponent Kovalev wiped the floor with for the last 6+ years.
Yarde has never faced an opponent with near the power, skill and experience as Kovalev has. It's pretty safe to assume Kovalev would have disposed of each and every Yarde opponent inside a couple of rounds, not much chance they would do better against him as they did against Yarde. Reason to believe Yarde stands any kind of chance here is hope that he either has another level (or two) he hasn't shown yet, has a chin that's good enough to walk down Kova (highly unlikely) or that Alvarez really was Kova's last hurrah.

As a Brit I'm backing Yarde. Especially as Kovalev is confirmed by everyone around him to be a total POS. However, there is no reason at all to think Yarde can hit particularly hard. He's knocked out nobody of note and Kovalev may well have KO'd all Yarde's opponents in the first round. Yarde doesn't even have a lot of nasty looking one punch KO's. I think Yarde has power, but it's hard to think that will be enough. He needs Kovalev to have done little prep and plenty of boozing in the run up to this.

Yarde has no record against world level (even British level) fighters so we've absolutely no idea how hard he hits at that level.

On the flip side, Kovalev also has a lot of power and Yarde’s chin hasn’t been tested. Given the difference in technical skill and experience between the two, who is likely to land first? Definitely kovalev.
