Yarde has said that 6 opponents have turned them down/pulled out. One of which apparently being Sean Monaghan who would have been an excellent choice and somebody who I picked as my favoured choice from the WBO rankings. I know it’s fun to bash him, but I think we should maybe be abit more open about the difficulties of nailing down the right fights at the correct price sometimes.
That’s true, but they also tried for Buglioni again offering a higher rate then he warrants and his team still turned the fight down. Im hoping frank might try to get Yarde on the wilder PPV if he’s struggling to get opponents- I’m sure Haymon has a few decent light heavys
YARDES last 5 opponents fight purses equate to probably around 5k sterling, they seem to be finding not only the easiest opponent to fight and beat ,but the lowest cost too
You see again that wouldn’t do him any favours. More exposure and knocking out another bum on a ppv will again make opponents demand more. The only positive is maybe if it was on a PPV they’d have more money to pay an opponent.
Eddie Hearn offered Buatsi as a possible opponent, not sure how serious he was but that could be a good fight to see how either man is?
Yarde wouldn’t take it. He’s ranked number 2 and 5 in the world. He’s got nothing to gain and everything to lose. It’s a shame because I would like to see it.
Let’s not pretend that Hearn was actually serious about letting Buatsi fight Yarde for relative peanuts at this point. As per fighting on the PPV I meant that because of the extra money available for opponents( as you suggested) / access to Haymons stable
