@Dragon Punch - it will be disproven when he steps in the ring. I won’t believe until then; if he does, fair play. If it does go ahead then they must be supremely confident in Yarde’s ability because he’s had little to no preparation for this fight. I’m calling a cash out by Frank
You can say about not believing until he steps in the ring about any fight mate. And you can’t have it both ways, in one sense your saying their gunna pullout then your saying it’s a cash out...pick one and stick to it.... Mate, why don’t you just say fair play and see what happens instead of switching the goal posts from your no doubt original thought, that they would pull out of the purse bids
You can when you’re talking about 2 different parties. I don’t think Frank would have envisaged Yarde to be facing Kovalev in Russia already. He’d have much preferred to build him as one of his flagship Uk stars. If Yarde does fight Kovalev in Russia, absolutely fair play to him and his team- personally, I just don’t think they will.
You do have a point! Yarde & Tunde will be getting a shot after beating no one of note and therefore not having to do very much to work on your way up to the mandatory spot. He hasn't had to do any hard sparin along the way either cos the only person it's seems that yarde spars is tunde himself. With all the cash yarde has made from the good sponsorship deals he's had and the decent payday they will get, should they have to go to Russia, which is where Cathy Duva is wanting this to go. tunde gets 35% of any fight purses & 25% of sponsor deals and let's be fair here, it must of been tunde who went out and got yarde the maximuscle & Adidas deals , he'll get 25% of that, plus whatever else he's got him. Tunde is doing well out of this that's for sure. Yarde also, but maybe yarde could of done better without tunde.
It's absolutely not a ridiculous post. The guy hasn't fought anybody British level for god sake. Would you say Craig Richards has a good chance vs Kovalev? Because Richards has operated at a higher level than Yarde let alone a washed up Crolla.
I know Yarde's team and perhaps Yarde himself are irritating. But a win here is great for British boxing. Puts Yarde around the top of the division with some great fights to be made. If he does the unthinkable - which I don't believe he will, although I do give him a small chance- hopefully he's not on the first plane to America, alongside the rest of the British talent.
If you know yardes team, shares your opinion of tunde. All we get to see is someone playing to the cameras. What s he really like?
Kovalev is on the slide, not the fighter he once was, however this game is about levels. Yarde will start brightly but he will walk onto a shot after a couple rounds then it will all be over. Yarde just doesn't add up. Of course that's if this actually happens.
I think the fight will happen. If yarde puts in a good performance then he can say he is world level. If he wins then that is fantastic for him. If he gets wiped out and it's not competitive then it looks like a cash out. Massive credit for taking it though. I thought they would pull out of the purse bids.
Frankie boy gave an update on IFL yesterday at the Joyce press conference. Said the terms have been agreed and Yarde will travel to Russia for the fight, subject to contract. It's up to Kathy Duva and Kovalev's team to send through a contract now reflecting the agreed terms. I'm sure Kovalev's team will **** it. No chance they expected Yarde to agree to travel to Russia.
walks around with a confident swag, but more down to earth, less talkative....and looking to spread boxing love as long as you don't criticise him...
