Un****ingbelievable. This content is protected Anthony Yarde Was Ahead Of Artur Beterbiev On 2 Scorecards Before Beterbiev’s TKO In 8th
Well. Maybe not. He was about to be trailing on 2 cards after rd8. And the last 4 weren’t likely to be great rounds for him.
I didn't have Yarde ahead, but I don't think it's a travesty. That fight was crazy and I don't think a card with Yarde ahead is that horrible. And the judges weren't British. One of them was ****ing Korean, that's fun.
But they were all working in Yarde's country (UK) for the notorious British promoter Frank "Fish Eyes" Warren.
I don't know. It was looking like he was going to get dropped in the later rnds. Multiple times if not out right stopped in my eyes. Yarde did land some very nice counters and at time stunned Beterbiev but Yarde was on the receiving end of way more hard clean shots. Rnd 4 onward Beterbiev was digging to that body and beginning to hurt Yarde.
Could anyone have argued a SD either way before the knockdown? Certainly not me and lets not pretend robberies don’t happen in America where there isnt British involvement. Teofimo Martin comes to mind.
Did to watch the fight? The rounds were close, I had Beterbeiv winning 4-3 up until the stoppage but a lot of the rounds were very tight and I can see why some thought Yarde was ahead. No 'travesty' of any kind. Out of curiosity, how did you have it scored rbr?
I'd have to rewatch it, I was engrossed in Yarde's courageous performance but I didn't think he was turning the tide at any moment in the fight, just delaying the inevitable.
That's how I felt also, however he was still landing and pushing the action in a lot of the rounds. Most people had it close, even the scene had Yarde ahead so I'm confused where this controversy has come from?
Had Yarde ahead on their scorecards at the time of the stoppage. I had Yarde winning 2-3 rounds max! What say you?
