Yes I'd agree with that. Yarde started to walk onto quite a few in the later rounds. I feel that he should have covered up a bit more and picked his opportunities.
Yarde has the skills, speed, power and chin but not enough experience. He should have fight a disciplined fight and use the jab more. I don't think Beterbiev beats Bivol. Beterbiev has weak chin. Bivol will land fast combo on Beterbiev and he will be in trouble. Beterbiev defense comes mainly from his restless pace *(attack is defense) I am sure if he gets countered all night he doesn't go anywhere. B+ fighter. Not a GOAT.
So the judges had it 4-3 Beterbiev, 4-3 Yarde and 5-2 Yarde. 4-3 Yarde isn't the worst scorecard ever but it's the absolute most favorable scorecard for Yarde that any fair judge could conceivably have. 5-2 Yarde stinks of corruption or incompetence.
On second and clearer view... I do think Yarde was in better overall condition than I thought. Obviously he was hurt bad, but I thought he was being worn down worse than he actually was, and he was holding his own quite well up until getting caught.
Yarde won two rounds at best. He's no doubt a dangerous and classy opponent, but he has no chance even if surviving 12 rounds - he had his mouth open in the 4th. Spat his mouthpiece twice, had his belt like five fingers below his tits for at least 3 rounds. The judges who put him ahead in their scorecards are *diots.
The fight is in England. With the corrupt nature of the sport it doesn't always matter when the judges are "international"
Well it's not totally out of the question i had Beterbiev up 1 point, but i could see a scorecard with Yarde up by 1, which is what the judge had it rounds 1 and 2 were fairly close. 1 Beterbiev 2 Yarde 3 Beterbiev 4 Beterbiev 5 Yarde Round of The Year 6 Yarde 7 Beterbiev 8 Beterbiev wins by TKO 67-66 Beterbiev That's how i scored it i don't think 67-66 Yarde is totally unreasonable, although I admit a 5-2 scorecard for Yarde is ridiculous. Overall though 4-3 Beterbiev, 5-2 Beterbiev, or 4-3 Yarde is reasonable though for me.
Lol Do you just have a problem with the English or something.. corrupt judging happened the world over stop singling Nations out
I thought it was pretty close had it evens after Yarde slapped his butt in round 6 because Berb decided to take it off. Yarde really needed a knockdown from the right hand he landed on Berb in whatever round it was.
That's what I had it 5-2 Beterbiev. I thought Yarde looked gassed as early as round 4 so it wasn't a surprise when it ended. But I did appreciate Yarde going past 6 rounds, that was a money maker
