his first 18 fights were 0-0 bums. Jason Jackson was fighting colby covington in his like third fight. I knew and betted on JJ , Amosov striking is just not good. He likes to take guys down and sit in full guard. That strategy gets old sooner or later.
Jackson is a good fighter and credit to him, but that's the worst I've ever seen Amosov look. Jackson has never finished anyone else in Bellator before either, but he treated Amosov like a punching bag and finished him decisively. Anyways... Amosov wont have much work to do climbing the ranks seeing as he's much cleaned out the WW division in Bellator apart from Jackson and Koreshkov. He can probably take one tune up fight and get the winner of Jackson/Magomedkerimov which is probably on the cards next.
all of his best wins were split decision. They were just style matchups that favored him by out grappling the striker (Lima) or out striking the grappler who has less striking (Storly.) Jason had just enough takedown defense and better striking to expose Amosov's striking as average.
I understand the result. Doesn't change that Amosov looked terrible and that Jackson almost never finishes anyone, much less a solid fighter like Amosov.
